I just think we needed a bigger name in English football. This bloke's a risk too far IMO and I think he will struggle. Just my opinion and if he proves me wrong I will happily eat humble pie.

There's no denying that Puel is by far my least favoured option, but i'm basing my opinion on stats alone. I have no idea about his football philosophy and coaching ability. Les Reed knows far more about these things than me and the black box must've been tracking Puel for a while now. I'm slightly disappointed right now, but the club is in safe hands and I did vote for "Anybody that Uncle Les Picks" in the poll.

Seriously, if people worked off stats alone and didn't add context, this is how they'd look at Mauricio. 33% win rate with Espanyol, got sacked with them bottom of the league. 38% win rate with Saints. Nothing exceptional about those stats. The difference is, we have the context to say there was considerable improvement.
