Elliott was the highest scorer in Europe(joint with Henry) in a season and he wasn't a striker, he deserves recognition for being one our best players in the past ten years(if Turner and Myhill are included).

His asthma curtailed his career, but he was a class act, I've never seen anyone float in the air like him.

And if i'm not mistaken that season he was injured for a fair chunk at the end too.

And he had one of the best chants of all time.

Things like this aren't measured by achievement alone, they are measured by how much of an impression they made on club and fans. Shame Rambo and Ash ain't there.

Raich Carter is one of the outstanding English players of the last century from a time when our game was full of other greats.

Waggy is 13th in the Top 50 list of all time post war goalscorers with 266 goals for Mansfield and City between 1960 and 1975.

Sir Keith is at 19th with 254 goals from 1976 and 1990 for Sheffield, us, the vermin, Stockport, Hudds, Plymouth.

Chillo got a shedload but doesn't make the top 50.

Elliott is nowhere near - he had one great season when everything he hit flew in but that was it, basically.

No one can seriously believe he belongs up there with the above larkers, surely?

And on the other hand, footballers included because of their standing in general football and not solely because of their exploits with HCFC.

Elliott should be up there with Keefy Edwards, because of their exploits with HCFC.

Elliott had one good season in the third tier.

That was it basically....

It's a shame they have to name the players (bottom right of each hanging flag) but we do have a lot of non real fans who couldn't care less about our history.

Not thrilled about the typography either to be honest.

Quibbling bastard? NO SMALL MINDED NEGATIVE QUIBBLING BASTARD - yes

No.

I just want the best for MY club.

And Geovanni did what?

Scored our first goal in the Premier League.

In which case Steve Melton should be up there. Did fvck all apart from score the 1st goal at the KC.

Or Duane Darby - first goal in Division 4.

You were the one moaning about how we should ape Man City with the fanzone outside the ground, and as City start to do something you start fvcking moaning about it.

It's an excellent idea and all of the choices of players to tribute with their own banners that I've seen so far are excellent. I reckon Elliott will be up there soemwhere. It isn't about players who were loved by the neutral or have a high standing in the general football world, it's about iconic City players. I'd have thought Agro of all people would appreciate that. Elliott was an iconic City player, as was Justin Whittle and he only played in the lower leagues too.

Elliot was iconic for a season only - and it was at the third tier.

Look let's try and raise the bar a bit shall we?

Whoever chose the players to be featured probably thought "Let's cover the decades shall we?

50s -Raich

60's/70s Waggy-Chillo

80s Garreth Roberts

90's Warren Joyce

00s- Geo, Dawson, Ash, Myhill

On that basis, no room for Andy Davidson (50s,60s), Stuart Pearson (70s), Sir Keith/Big Billy (80s), Paul Hunter (90s) and Stuart Elliot (00s).

Hope this helps.
