"Saints are red-and-white stripes and therefore should always remain that way except for the numerous seasons in the past where we weren't red and white but we can ignore that because **** you" is a more accurate quote.

To all the "****in Liverpool!" complainers now - did you say "This isn't ****ING SOUTHAMPTON this is ****ING RIVER PLATE" in the sash year?

Take a bow <applause>

So CBK, you're opposed to looking like Liverpool, but all for looking like Stoke?

Been viewing this forum for years, decided to actually post!

One thought.... what happens when we play away at Stoke, Sunderland or any other team that wears red and white stripes???? Discretion of the ref I know but I can't see the home team changing to play in their away kit...... a third kit looming????

I kinda like the kit, I think it will grow on me. I loved the sash and last seasons traditional kit as soon as I saw them.... will have to see this one in the flesh before I make a decision.... oh who am I kidding, I always buy the home shirt without fail!

The funny thing is, Liverpool only wore a similar kit for 3/4 years. But you know, we can ignore that, because otherwise pissing and moaning isn't as fun.

Well at least nothing's changed on here I guess. We all know what we're in for over the next 12 months. Last season's moaners are next season's moaners.

Yes, because Stoke also traditionally wear a red & white striped shirt (and keep to their traditional short & sock colours too) and didn't feel the need to look like scousers mark II.

I could have lived with the shirt, but ditching the black shorts ruins it for me.

Some things never change. Thankfully those of us who like it will enjoy it, so I'm happy. Let the miserable people be miserable.

Surely our white away kit won't clash with their stripes...shorts may need changing.

One can have a strong negative viewpoint on a particular piece of news regarding Southampton Football Club and exercise one's right of making it known on this forum without it meaning that one will be negative on all things regarding Southampton Football Club for the entire 2012/13 Barclay's Premier League season... you know mush.

It's fair to say that several of the people with strong negative viewpoints now have a tendency to bitch and whine an awful lot in a variety of situations.

How does one "enjoy" a bit of polyster? Is it a sexual thing?

Well that told me. Here I am, throwing away 40 years of supporting the club because I have a negative view on the new home kit.

Off to throw myself off the Itchen Bridge, but will do it onto concrete so I leave a mostly red stain to be forever remembered by.

Sunderland are red/white shirt with black shorts and red socks. Our pretty much all white won't clash there.

Stoke are red/white shirt, white shorts and red or white socks, so maybe a clash there.

We can use our previous away kit I think.

I don't dislike the shirt because it goes away from "tradition", I just simply don't like the home shirt.
