Saints sent one to Soccer AM's resident Saints fan Chris Nutbeam:

Looks better there. Not as dark as pictures showed.

Is that how we judge kits? If so, I only wish they spent all of 10 minutes copy/pasting the Stoke/Sunderland kit and pritt sticking the Saints logo on. That'd be better, obviously.

Too ****ing right it would be better, because then it would be a Southampton kit, not a Liverpool kit.

Saints were the one making a big play on the fact this was "tailored by Umbro specially for the club".

You'll never walk alone

Home kit is beyond crap, into a whole new dimension of utter ****ness. And when I say ****, I mean the type of runny **** with added nuggety cling-ons.

Away kit is ok though.

Home kit is crap though.

Must have taken Umbro all of 20 minutes to design that after looking at Liverpool kits of the 80's & 90's.

Well, I never buy kits, I'm sure those of you who spunk £45 on a bit of cheap man-made fibre to make it the most expensive item in your wardrobe will look lovely. Pinstripes are very slimming as well for the fat ****ers.

YNWA... I mean.. COYR

I preferd the old CBK who wasn't afraid to speak his mind.

Hang on a mo. You're saying it would be okay to take another club's kit and stick a Saints logo on it?

In which case with your own argument that is what we have done.

Obviously Sunderland and Stoke are in stripes, but still.

Other reason?....Tradition.

Pretty much the same reason but with more positive wording isn't it. "Saints are red-and-white and therefore should always remain that way" is the only reason we have heard.

Just seen a sensible post on SaintsWeb (yes, you read that correctly):

"Let's face it. The Saints that most of us have known all our lives died in 2005. We are now in a new age, with a new Saints created in the image and dreams of Liebherr and Cortese. Can anyone not support their dream, their achievements?

The team is dead, long live the team. Into the future and put the past to rest."

Well, I don't love it....yet. But I don't hate it either. Like a lot of people have said, I think the white stripes could have been marginally thicker, and the gold logo that mightysouthampton mocked up on page 2 looked better.

Regarding the away kit, it looks nice but I really wish they had kept the yellow (maybe yellow with a blue pinstripe). Yellow is such a part of our history, I couldn't believe when they came out with at last year's memorial cup, it was brilliant.

The whole crowd should wear yellow whenever we play Man Utd.

"Saints are red-and-white stripes and therefore should always remain that way except for the numerous seasons in the past where we weren't red and white but we can ignore that because **** you" is a more accurate quote.

To all the "****in Liverpool!" complainers now - did you say "This isn't ****ING SOUTHAMPTON this is ****ING RIVER PLATE" in the sash year?

I hated it when we moved to St Marys from The Dell. No respect for tradition.

I Like it .

Home kit is RED with white stripes , away kit is WHITE with Red stripes .

Red & white stripes at EVERY saints game .

master stroke IMHO .

I think they might have done actually.
