Mind I don’t agree with this.

first half against Portsmouth they kept lumping the ball to the target man and were happy sitting in playing for a 0-0

RLB even said in his post match that at half time they had to solve the problem of getting past there short passes to long ball.

so that is the first example of how we beat a team, we scored a goal late in first half by playing a nice passing move

hmm not sure I agree, Pompey seemed happy to sit back and try long balls mixed with the short passing, we seemed to change something at HT to fix that. I also think if they do try and sit back, our press will cause their CB's who are probably not good on the ball to panic, gifting us goals

Most of the first half was spent attacking down the left with Cirkin and Mundle. Hume might as well have stayed in the dressing room.
Our first really concerted right wing attack produced the own goal, our second goal also came through PR again down the right.
We were stretching them right across both wings once we'd taken the lead.

I watched Wednesday play Plymouth and thought their CHs were big leggy lads with very little ball control whilst trying to play out from the back, I didn't see any improvement when they played against us.

The recruitment has been a godsend for RLB with players like Jobe, Browne, Hume, etc, being capable of playing in various positions ...

... almost as if it's been planned all along <laugh>

At Portsmouth the starting eleven knew what they were doing and the subs came in knowing what was required.

The opposition manager stood and watched his players jumping from one tactic to another and, when it all failed, played a coaching masterstroke by flinging on four subs who didn't seem to have a clue where they were playing or how.

This is all becoming a bit scary, like watching Man City where the players just know what to do with or without the ball.

It's like living through an episode of the Twilight Zone <laugh>

I agree, it's sensible.

Sadly Roker Report are far from blameless. They helped feed the hysteria about Speakman, Dodds & Proctor and validated the hate mob's demands that they should all be booted out of the club. Now they've been proved entirely wrong they, and the other Wise Guys, should do the decent thing and say so. Articles like this are the 'journalistic' equivalent of,
'No one's more pleased than me so let's all play nice together as Sunderland fans, no digging each other out eh' ...

... that's fine but it's a fact that fellow Sunderland supporters, showing any signs of defending those people, were slapped down, accused of being gullible, accepting mediocrity and being part of the problem.

It's another indisputable fact that, if things had gone badly this season, those people would've climbed the highest soapbox, turned the megaphone to it's max and screamed, 'TOLD YOU SO!!!'

Yes there are people who are more pleased than you ...

... the ones who were right <laugh>

I'm going to defend Roker Report here. Of all the fanzines etc they've been the only ones not sticking the knife in and demanding Dodds, Proctor out etc.

You may be getting them mixed up with Wise Men Say and What the Falk. Both of whom have been far more "negative" than the almost always positive Roker Report.
