As someone who didnt want Rosenior, I've read, what I found, a few cracking posts on here over the past couple of days, that have defo give me a more optimistic outlook with him. He's likeable, his teams have an identity and he has experience at this level. These are my concerns with this appointment (tbf not even a reflection on LR).

LR was sacked a week into May, we had nearly 3 months before then to identify candidates, I think its fair to assume LR would not of been in our thoughts whilst employed at Hull. That makes me think there has been one of two scenarios if hes appointed. 1) We couldnt attract higher calibre candidates from those we identified before his sacking, if this is the case, then I ask why couldnt we attract these names or get them over the line? 2) Of the candidates we identified since Feb, LR is the best of the list. If this is the case, then with all due respect to LR, that must of been a pretty underwhelming list imo.

It also concerns me slightly that Hull watched him for a couple of years, where he did a good job but still thought they could improve on him, specifically noting they wanted to improve the style of football. (Their owner does come across a bit of an idiot tbf).

If hes appointed, I will feel like our manager process has ultimately failed like it did when we appointed Beale. I dont mean that LR is a failed appointment (I wouldnt even be that disappointed with him just a bit underwhelmed), I just mean I feel like we couldnt get candidates that we preferred or our manager recruitment doesnt stretch further than unemployed British managers.

Dont want this to come off as negative towards LR or writing him off at all, think he would do a solid job, its more of a club structure above him Id feel worried about ( obviously some of my points are just my assumptions and may not even be right).

This thread is starting to remind me of that old film where people are marooned in a jungle somewhere and waiting for rescue.....can't think of the title.
Rescue doesn't come and some of them go mad with the waiting and the uncertainty and start eating each other.

Gilligan's Arseholes?

Feel like people are constantly talking themselves into believing something they were against previously, based on a few internet videos then if it turns out we aren’t getting them nobody was apparently bothered anyway :emoticon-0110-tongu

The problem with these videos is that anyone can source enough footage to make someone look like a world beater in a 5 minute video.

Recruitment done by the person who is then sacked? Then a new DoF comes in and has to work with a coach they didn't select and players they didn't select, have to work on implementing their style of play with people they might not see fit to implement that style, be handed new players on long contracts which they might think are **** and want gone straight away. Is that not even more disruptive?

For me you either had to remove him last month or you give him the season.
To be fair though, at any point that a new DoF comes in, there will be people on long contracts and people that they wouldn't necessarily have chosen to work with. In an ideal world, you might bring in a new head coach as the same time as a new DoF, but such circumstances would be rare. As long as you're not changing at the start of or during a transfer window, I think its acceptable.

So he allegedly said he wants to manage in England, agrees a contract verbally and then has his head turned and goes back to France.

fair play to him as he’s not actually done anything wrong as until that contract is signed the interested party (and the employer) can do owt they want.

Things is, from my perspective, if you verbally agree a contact you would've thought that would've been the end of the head coach search. In a way, glad he didn't join up as it seems that he lives his life on social media and we've already had a coach that does that

Apparently Liam knocked Plymouth back a couple of days after being sacked from Ull. So, looks like he doesn't just jump at the first chace he gets offered. As for Still, seems all the turmoil Lens isn't enough to put him off. Our club blew nothing with him, he went back on a reported agreement to say safe in France.

Yeah Tan Kesler runs the recruitment and i'm sure the owner is heavily involved judging by what he says in the media, as well as being on the Fenerbache board. Don't think Rosenior had much of a say.
The first thing that happened when the owner took over is they signed someone Turkish and he flew loads of fans out for a Turkish holiday so it’s fair to say the owner isn’t hands off
