Why have people the right to be concerned if the new manager is contracted and on gardening duty to the end of June ?
They’ve got the right to feel however they want, if we’re being told it’s close, people will be concerned if it drags on another month

It's just human nature that we're more likely to complain about something negative than to praise something positive. The difference these days is that with the internet and forums etc, rather than just being a little moan that's quickly forgotten, all the negativity gets amplified and people jump on the bandwagon like that's the prevailing view, when it really isn't.
I think you're right, the Internet does amplify and extend any moaning that happens. I think though that the idea that was suggested, that we're better customers/consumers/fans if we complain, is wrong and part of an attitude that is detrimental.

Poch leaving Chelsea has blown my mind to be honest. But it has crystalised something that has been bothering me for a while. Slowly but surely I have been falling out of love with elite domestic football. Sky and the money at prem level started an inexorable decline. It has got worse though due to the modern football club owner. By and large they are a useless and incapable bunch, and not aware enough of how to make their business a success. They are in the process of putting the final nail in the coffin of the English game, which was once part of the fabric of our country, but no longer is.

Head coaches are seen as discardable cogs. They are given targets to achieve, but those targets are set by folk who have no knowledge upon which to base those targets. Once upon a time a coach was deemed fundamental to a club and was given time to create a team in their clubs image. Now, in our world of instant success or else, it is barely just over 1 season they get. Owners with significant wealth have ruined what was left of football in this country. We are left with a shell of a sport, one where there is arguably more talk in the fan base across a season about who should be next coach versus the actual matches. Sad times.
FourFourTwo reckon Chelsea's shortlist consists of Michel, Sebastian Hoeness, Tuchel, McKenna, Maresca, De Zerbi, and Thomas Frank.

McKenna is going to land himself a great job this window, do wonder if he’s better off staying put though? Must be hard to turn down a Chelsea or United those opportunities don’t come around often
There's something romantic about him staying for at least another season. As long as they don't over extend financially, they'll be sound. If he keeps them up his stock is still high, even if they're relegated by the skin of their teeth, given the quality of teams in the Prem, he could go again with Ipswich or a Brighton type.

However I'd understand if he went to Chelsea or United because that might be his only chance.

The state of football is mirroring the state of the world, with the "demanding" of things being done instantly, it's a lot like trial by social media, you need to go through the processes before being properly held accountable.

They see managers like Mckenna and think it has to be done straight away.

Burnley Luton and Sheffield up then down. It’s good financially at first but not necessarily overall. Leeds and Southampton will be messy whoever doesn’t make it this time. Slowly slowly catchy monkey

Why do Chelsea owners think another manager will do any better with the mish mash of players they have? Poch had them playing decent towards end of season. Game, especially at the top, is mental. It's lost on me.
From what ive heard is theres been massive disagreements between Poch n the technical team about how to move forward

Poch was 100% the right manager for them at this stage so could be a massive blow losing him

I genuinely think it's because of the demand for instant gratification that comes from both (certain) club owners and (and an element of) club's fans. Success now, or you're gone. I get more and more the impression that once a club has a certain amount of success, people can't cope if that club doesn't maintain that level of success, but that's not how sport works really.

Selfishly I want to see him have a crack with Ipswich, his ties with United could be too big a pull to ignore though
