I really need to get back to work but my final point I keep coming back to when I go round and round in my head, is Rangers hired him TWICE.

You can hire anybody once if they talk your socks off in an interview. I've hired several people who have been brilliant at interview and then underwhelmed.

But I've only ever hired one person twice. And no sexy interview would make me hire somebody I didn't want a second time. Rangers wanted him as Manager having already employed him previously. He must impress people he works with, despite what all the rumours of dressing room issues say. Quotes from ex pros show that.

Hope your point holds I really do.

I know more about him today than I did on Friday and am more concerned today it’s a really poor choice than I was on Friday.

Just can’t see this being a good thing at all and usually am massively on the optimistic side but this is very deflating when it appeared the squad was in a position to kick on.
What if we do kick on and it was all pro rangers hot air?

They did but have you seen the comments under the safc announcement. Been a long time since I have seen anything so negative,

Yes I've seen the comments. I'm more disappointed in the way some of our fans are responding than I could possibly be in the appointment itself.

Some of the concerns are absolutely valid. In fact all concerns are valid. What isn't is the abuse, attacks and attempts from some to try to drag others down to their level of disappointment, rather than supporting the club.

Most of them will only be going on what Rangers have said tho. I just spoke to my mate who is a die hard rangers fans and he said as long as hes nowhere need transfer decisions he will do well. Said it all went wrong there as he was telling players they arent in his plans and he struggled delivering that message, thats more of what speakman does with us. His transfers in the summer were shocking but again thats not in his remit with us

The more i think about it i think this could be a really clever appointment

My biggest issue is the lack of playing style this season at Rangers - seen this for myself at Ibrox and it was just nothing. Thats why the Rangers fans dont speak well of him, in the main
However, his 71% win record is the 2nd best in their history, so he did a lot right also.

He was also in charge of recruitment this summer predominantly so defo a different job to Head Coach with us

You dont get employed as a coach on the grass at Chelsea, Liverpool, Rangers and Villa unless you know your tactics and set ups etc

Time to get behind the new man, until he gives us enough reasons not to.

The response has been embarrassingly over the top though you must admit that ? I didn’t want him cos I knew very little about him and I think most know little detail but I’m happy to trust the people in charge because I think they’ve improved us until I see it isn’t right
I’ll agree that I got angry that this frustratingly unambitious appointment was being considered. Living in Scotland I saw how poor Rangers were doing under him, and his appearances in front of camera were not inspiring either.

I would agree that in general the overall response has been a bit embarrassing, but being verbally abused, or undermined for having a different opinion on a forum is also bang out of order.

My thoughts were there must be better than Beale out there. I still think this is uninspiring, but if he turns out that he’s successful, no one will be more pleased than me.

Interesting that Dodds is moving up to Assistant Head Coach - Possibly with a view to him replacing Beale at some point moving forwards?

I'm neither here or there on the appointment but willing to give him time to get this right - if he gets a striker scoring regularly then he will already have done better than TM.

Some of the negativity is shocking mind - it seems SAFC fans are never happy unless they are whinging about something or other. We're in a good position to kick on now into the second half of the season.

That is fair. And the vast number will also do the same. Be interesting to see how he performs and interacts with everyone linked with safc

Yep. Just got to let him get on with it.

Certainly he could do with toning down the waffle, but he's paid to improve the team and players, so if he does that then he can't be talking too much ****e to them.

But he's a coach not an entertainer. There are some right gobshites out there who talk a good job and keep getting jobs because of it

Beale told QPR fans that loyalty means a lot when he knocked back the Wolves job, then joined Rangers about a month later.

Rangers were struggling last season under Gio Van Bronkhurst and Beale was in the stands at one of his final games which heaped pressure on Gio, who is a Rangers legend from his spell playing for us, then getting us to within a penalty kick of winning the Europa league.

Beale took over and had a great spell of wins, but we lost every game that mattered, and he was up against Fat Ange's Celtic side who were utterly relentless, swatting away all the Scotch sides.

Up until this season, Beale had the best win % of any manager in Scotch football history, but his signings in the close season have been truly awful, Jack Butland aside. Rangers got rid of 5 of our top scorers during the close season and replaced them with guys who had poor goal return stats already, so God knows what Beale saw in them.

This season under Beale, there looked like there was issues even during close season where we were dreadful to watch. He got us through to the CL play off versus PSV. We drew 2-2 at Ibrox but get raped in Eindhoven (PSV are having a great season). In the league, we started off the season with a visit to Kilmarnock, he rested one of our best players in Cantwell, and we got beat, we then lost to Celtic at Ibrox (another game that mattered) and then to Aberdeen at home too which meant that we lost 3 out of 7 league games, and we were really poor to watch.

Plus for this season was we beat Real Betis in the Europa but he left before any more EL games.

Beale was a great coach and had a genuine affinity to our Club from his spell as Sneaky G's coaching staff, it was a shame that it didn't work out for us.I remain sceptical if he is actually able to head up as a manager but wish him and you all the best for the rest of the season.

Good luck
@Sheds
Last point, when Beale got appointed, our Director of football left shortly afterwards so Beale was heading up everything, including scouting.

Might work out better at Sunderland as I’m reading your football dept is still in place. Keep Beale coaching and improving players and leave recruitment etc up to your Tech director.

Cantwell, Scott Arfield and a few others said Beale was the best coach they worked with so it’s not all bad.

The guy is a proper football man.

He wont have any control over our transfers as thats what Speakman will be doing.

A 10-month tenure in Scotland followed for Beale, who guided Rangers to the 2023 Scottish League Cup final and departed Ibrox Stadium with the highest top-flight win percentage (77.42%) in the Club’s history.

Wouldnt have been my 1st choice but hope he smashes it. Going by the statements its clear he was always one of their main targets

I think its laughable that people who have no idea who the club has interviewed are saying weve only appointed him because he is the cheap option. The club clearly have done their due diligence and decided he is the right person to take us forward - thats good enough for me!

People slagging not having a plan in place when TM left clearly havent listened to what Speakman has said about Beale being on their radar for a while - thats what success planning is all about!

We now need to get behind the club - unlike the ones ive seen on social media saying they want fans to boycott games and even wanting to protest against the club!!

Social media is a cesspit, nailed on most of the keyboard warriors on there never actually go to a match.
