Surely we have to conclude this before the players return for Pre-Season. One way or another if it's their 1st choice or 4th.

What kind of message would it give to the better players we're hoping to keep hold of if they come back to Dodds and Proctor still in charge?

I literally just told you a post from 10th August ONE WEEK into season with on the whole starting squads.

This is far more accurate than 2 months before the season. I’m bored of explaining if you feel your dates are more accurate than the actual squads that start the seasons then sound pal.

I ain’t predicting anything in June or July cos that would be silly.

They literally already started winning games then though, Heckingbottom won MOTM in August for the Championship, at that point the odds are amended for form. The whole point of the odds before kick off is that the bookmakers rely on data they are surmising, the fact the odds shorten proves that Heckingbottom is exceeding expectations by getting the team to win. <doh>

Transfer window opens next week, I would be far happier to see someone in this week if I'm honest.

I agree, I think he needs to be in for the transfer window opening as its obvious we will be getting bids in for players. Also ideally should have time to settle personal affairs before the players return for training.

Jesus wept mate this is after a week with the squads they would go into season with.

Yours is from 2 months before with barely recognisable squads. I’m actually sat here chuckling at you thinking you are close to right here.

Have a blessed day though lad.

Check again, the date is 29th July, one week before kick off.

Trying my best not to insult your intelligence here but you cannot take odds from after kick off when determining if a manager is exceeding expectations from the start of the season.

You can take odds from the start of a season, which is what I’m quoting.

I very much doubt your opinion of my intellect is a concern.

I wouldnt take odds as the true indicator if someone has done well to get a team promoted

Sheff utd had the 3rd most valuable team in the league that season - behind burnley and Watford. He has probably the best CB and CM in the league and had more depth upfront than any other team

Did he work a miracle or exceed expectation with them, no - their fans expectated automatic promotion and they got it. Did he do well to get promoted- of course he did, whether you are favourites or not, getting promotion is an achievement

I dont like his tactics, i thought they were awful to watch and just relied on the star power to get them over the line - they had more star power than most teams in the league. He struggled to adapt when things werent going well in games and there werent many players that kicked on under him.

I dont think he will be the manager, i hope not as i really dont think he would do a good job at us

His name is being brought up as bob is mates with him thats all

That would be an absolute disgrace. I don’t believe it’ll be the case mind.

Two games are 4.34% of a 46 game season.

Is there a better metric than betting odds? I've yet to come across a metric that is readily available that ranked teams in league position format that is better than betting odds. Happy to be educated here.

I think that is likely from Transfermarkt, which aside from their data compilation which is good, its values are very often wildly out of step (Ballard currently £4m) with actual transfer fees, I wouldn't consider that more accurate data than betting odds.

My point is they were one of the favourites to get promoted, had one of the most expensively assembled squads so it wasnt a shock that they got promoted was it?

Everyone who knows football knew they would be challenging for the title with the squad they had, which is my point

Are you saying based on the squad they had he over achieved the yr they got promoted? If you say yeah then fair enough but i dont think they did

The fact Norwich and Watford were nowhere near kind of shots on the argument that those odds were the best shout a little bit too..:
