100% mate. Madness and naieve to think Dodds and Proctor are the reason for this decision, so late in the day.

Anyway, Rene Maric, come on down. @Blond Bombshell has offered drinks on him with his winnings.
Spot on

Ive been told by reliable sources (@Magnus heard similar) that the club were willing to let Still bring in the coaches he wanted, all agreed n then hes decided to join Lens

I agree the club could have done it quicker but i understand that Still couldnt sign a deal with anyone until 1st of June so the club's hands on tied on that

Theyve clearly gone out to get their man n given him what he wants, another job has come up that he feels is better

The club needs to go quickly to target 2 now

the other similarity with all of those was they dragged and dragged.

Neil clearly wanted a longer term contract after play off final and never got it. After he leaves Speakman claimed he offered him a new deal.

Stewart was coming to final year and everyone knew it.

Pritchard was clearly earmarked to be shown the door (hence Dack signing) but then it was spun that he forced the move.

granted Pritchard and Neil could have left on better terms but it feels a repetitive thing that Speakman is causing people to leave on bad terms. It’s almost like he’s so bad to work with people would rather tarnish their own reputation in getting out

we seem to have a habit of indecisiveness and stubbornness

Bang on. It's one man doing and the evidence is there for everyone to see.

There are also those that seem quick to bash the club, when these various press reports show that we don't really know what has happened

I get that but we haven’t been quick to bash the club, we haven’t had a manager for nearly 4 months. If the season was a few weeks longer we would’ve been in real danger of relegation, we can’t take that form into next season with a 3rd/4th choice manager that the players are underwhelmed by.

The negotiations obviously took longer than we might have hoped and just possibly we might have tied things down earlier but I think it’s very likely his agent has let Lens and other parties know he’s agreed terms so make a move now if you’re going to. Norwich tried but were less attractive, Lens are for whatever reason more attractive. The negotiations taking ages will have been on both sides.
Fault on both sides I suspect but that’s football. Need to act promptly now for alternative options.

We get that you don't like Speakman, but who are we meant to believe, some media saying 1 thing and others saying something different

everyone’s entitled to make their own impressions based on all the info they receive.

until this evening I’ve always been supportive of Speakman and KLD, and given them the benefit of the doubt despite reservations. Tonight I’ve had it. Too many times. Too many coincidences.

I get what you're saying but a common theme with these reports are that Still was the man they wanted. Hes been available for around a month, weeks before Lens even needed a manager, and we havent managed to get it done. Aye Still might have been hard work for us the past few weeks, but ultimately the club havent managed to get what they wanted and thats disappointing (especially if the report saying its down to staffing are true). Lets hope they had other good candidates in the background as a back up and we end up with an appointment we're happy with.

I genuinely don’t even have a problem with Dodds being on the front bench, like some do. I quite like Dodds. He’s clearly a good coach.

What I do have a problem is preferred manager candidates turning us down BECAUSE they don’t get the choice as to whether he’s there.
He should’ve been sacked for playing Dack as a centre forward and saying watching us was boring. That ****ing idiot had the chance to change it but done **** all. Bladder the qunt.

Wouldn't want him if he was going to jump elsewhere at the first whiff of a better deal. We've been here before with Alex Neil.

Time for everyone to move on and stop blaming the club for every element of this (not saying you are)
This. I think we've dodged a bullet with Will Still. He would have been off without any loyalty to our club, if he was offered a job elsewhere that he fancied.

Stewart was injured when sold. He played approximately 30 minutes Southampton over the season. I think £10 million in the club is better than paying him a years salary.

Bang on. I think this is the general feeling amongst our fan base.

Only thing I’m clinging onto is that Michael Walker gets loads right about us, and he’s not said it’s completely dead, neither has Downie. Just that it’s all but dead unless there’s a u-turn. If Walker has insinuated that a u-turn isn’t totally out of the question, then it’s not totally dead. Hopefully all this hitting the press tonight scares the **** out of KLD/Speakman and they just throw everything we’ve got at Still to save the embarrassment of us not getting our number one target.

If we don’t get Still, I dread to think who else would want to come knowing they’re not our first choice. It’s as bad a situation as the club could be in. Confirming Still now is the ONLY thing we could do to save face.

Hope you're right with this mate. Really think we need an appointment in the next week now, even with missing out on Still, they should be closed in on 3 or 4 names now anyways.

But the season wasnt a few weeks longer, last season was shocking we all know that. We know we need a cracking summer to kick on n get back on track but it sounds like we identified who we wanted as our manager n gone after him

Been told by reliable sources that we were giving Still exactly what he wanted but hes then at the last minute decided to go elsewhere

He couldnt sign a deal with any other club until the 1st June otherwise theyd be due Reims a lot of comp (been told it was between 7-10 million - which no club in the championship would pay)

Noone is happy how this is playing out btw, we all want a manager in asap so we can start to look forward to the season

If the reports are true then he hasn't been available to sign a contract June 1st, and that the contract aswell as staffing issues and investment were all agreed. Now he's decided to goto Lens. Who knows what the truth is, too many contradicting reports.

undoubtedly a very good deal for the club. Should never have got to that point tho. Should have been re-contracted for longer

I don't like Speakman because he is the big issue with falling out with
Neil
Mobrway
Appointing Beale.
Being happy to right half a season off to take us into relegation form and finishing 16th.
I don't like how he promotes people like Dodds and watches us get beat each week.
I don't like it our he absolutely screwed some senior, well like players.
I don't like it how he has swerved fan meetings because he doesn't want the heat.
I don't like how it's June and we don't have a new coach after being without one for over 100 days.

Just off the top of my head.

Thats fair mate, I hadnt seen the 1st June stuff until after I posted my reply to you.
