Ive always thought the parting of the ways wasnt results based but was down to a full and frank discussion were minds will have been spoken ....a kind of back me or sack me scenario

it's a shame you couldn't get "Crack" in that last part mate. lol. But you're right. I ended up working along side an ex mag from the 80s, not mentioning names, but I asked him once "how do a football club let you know they want rid of you"? (Newcastle), he said "back then, you're called to the gaffers office, you sit in the chair and he says "right, we've had an offer for you from (insert club)..........", and that was it, he said that the fact they have told you means they want shot of you and the writing i on the wall, basically, alot can be said without saying much. I can't imagine it's moved on much from then.

Really? When the rumours were in the media most fans were kicking off! Do you really not remember that?

I remember rumours that most of the fans were kicking off ...

... I don't remember anything to back up the rumours or what 'most of the fans' actually means.

And I don't believe the club jumps every time the supporters pull a face tbh.

People like to think they're continually influencing the club, I think that's nonsense.

Blew the second leg at Luton?

We didn’t even have half a side.

And 3 points away from the playoffs isn’t falling short for a young side with no centre forward.

He didn’t deserve to be sacked, I think the club probably regret the decision.

If they sacked him 10 games earlier, we would have been relegated IMO

**** me still going on about mobray? Boring as ****

It's called fan backlash. When Farioli was linked after the first leg v Luton iirc there were a lot of fans on social media kicking off.
I disagree with you as I think that influenced the club. I know you will say they don't look at social media reactions etc but I believe they do...to a degree.

Not that often I disagree with you but I do on almost every aspect of your post <laugh>

I think we've all become a little too likely to think the club are pandering to our whims when, in reality, they simply want progress and out of a league that costs millions just to stand still. This is clearly a massive appointment after everything that's happened and the club, like most Championship clubs, is desperate to get to the PL.

A bit of short lived 'buzz' isn't what we need, this is a serious business and the entire club rests on this appointment.

In my opinion we're trying to get away from ' competent' managers like Mowbray, Rosenior, Heckingbottom, etc. I can't imagine KLD, who can communicate in various languages, found it too impressive watching Mowbray shuffle into press conferences then moaning about all these foreign lads he can't get through to. It's not just the 'language barrier' in my opinion, it's a naturally blinkered outlook in methods, preparation, training, etc.

Hull have had 'success' by grinding out results, that's true, but they'd have just been another Sheff Utd in the PL ...

... I'd feel really flat if we appointed either of Sheff Utd's last two managers, or Hull's, time for a change imo.
My 10p worth is almost exactly this, whilst appointing a manager for the here and now is great I truly hope we have looked beyond that and are trying to appoint somebody who will grow with the club and move us forward with a vision for the future.
Opinions are pretty much all we have on here at the moment and I think there is a higher ceiling for Still than Rosenior but in truth that is just based on a feeling.
Rosenior seems very much in the Gareth Southgate mould which as it happens is close to how Dodds likes to play with two holding midfielders however Rosenior does seem to manage to get his team to transition in to attack faster. Still seems to set up with a higher press and play a faster more open style of play which is probably why I tend to lean more in his favour. But like I say it is only my opinion.

No offence but If I thought KLD ran the club based on people on Twitter I'd quit right now ...

... it's so far fetched I'd sooner believe David Icke was influencing things.

Ok...do you believe the rumours we were interested in Farioli at the end of that season?
No smoke without fire etc...i 100% believe those rumours.

Disagred massively. Anderson was miles off the level, another failure in the tfr market. Weak and postionally terrible. Ekwah as a CH is just madness. He is as weak in the air as anyone, scared of the physical confrontation. Cant believe what I am reading at the minute. Barmy.

Aye Ekwah at CB sounds ok until you actually think about it for 30 seconds. Not suited to it at all and clearly not in a pressure game.

But surely no worse than Gooch.. he’s got about half a foot on him for a start.

If Man City had no fit CB’s do you think they’d play Rodri there or Bernardo Silva?

Hey @Smug in Boots you're famous - you've made Facebook! :emoticon-0100-smile

That ranks only slightly behind my cycling proficiency badge, 25 yard breaststroke certificate and lifetime membership of the Tufty club ... it's a very proud moment, for me, and something I'll refer to daily in my posts.

Ha'way Facebook, Ha'way the internet and Ha'way the Lads!!!

Who cares how tall he is... he doesn't compete for headers or for much in general. Gooch is small and it's miles away from ideal playing him at CB but he's a fighter and will compete for everything.

So at least there was some logic behind the decision.

Monitoring fans on social media would have prevented the Beale situation. It's an absolutely vital tool for clubs these days. Bare minimum it helps you frame any decisions you make for the best response.

Course it matters how tall he is when the opponents game plan is to hoof the ball forward at any given opportunity. He’s not great in the air I totally agree with that but even being 6’2 or whatever he is he’ll be a massive hindrance when he’s competing for headers compared to someone the size of Gooch.

I believe there were rumours but have no idea if they were based on fact.

What I do believe is that, if we were about to appoint Farioli, we wouldn't have backed off because of people thrashing around on social media. If the club jumps every time people on forum speak why did they appoint Beale when the reaction against him was much more than Farioli?

The fact Mr Still travelled down to Norwich from up here, shows he don't think we are that an attractive unit to join THATS JUST IMHO.
This is gonna come down to control over incomings and non interference.
TBH Bob there could be a number of reasons for him to have gone there for a chat.
