I think you have a point about there being coaches out there who may well be better than Still. There has been plenty of hype about him, I'd seen pieces about him on BT and on BBC (I think) and read several articles, long before he was linked to us. I think this has created a bit of an aura around him, that maybe isn't a true reflection of his competence. I would have thought that there are people out there are at least as good as him who haven't had the same level of recognition. I think the fact that he's had that level of hype is one of the reasons that the club like him. After the Beale situation, it will look good for them to be able to say "we've landed one of the hottest properties in European football".
Not that often I disagree with you but I do on almost every aspect of your post

I think we've all become a little too likely to think the club are pandering to our whims when, in reality, they simply want progress and out of a league that costs millions just to stand still. This is clearly a massive appointment after everything that's happened and the club, like most Championship clubs, is desperate to get to the PL.
A bit of short lived 'buzz' isn't what we need, this is a serious business and the entire club rests on this appointment.
In my opinion we're trying to get away from ' competent' managers like Mowbray, Rosenior, Heckingbottom, etc. I can't imagine KLD, who can communicate in various languages, found it too impressive watching Mowbray shuffle into press conferences then moaning about all these foreign lads he can't get through to. It's not just the 'language barrier' in my opinion, it's a naturally blinkered outlook in methods, preparation, training, etc.
Hull have had 'success' by grinding out results, that's true, but they'd have just been another Sheff Utd in the PL ...
... I'd feel really flat if we appointed either of Sheff Utd's last two managers, or Hull's, time for a change imo.
