Either way it’s a failure to recruit from the shortlist. Of course we don’t want people who aren’t right but if we make a shortlist and end up appointing someone existing it’s not delivered the desired outcome. I don’t really care if we win matches like but we can’t spin good news about the process.What do you mean by 'failed', interviews are a two way thing, usually with the dominant position is held by the interviewer. It may well be that the management decided that the interviewees just didn't meet the criteria, that's not failing, that's making the right decision.
