Hopefully we get Marti in and he's allowed to bring some of his own staff in with him. Failing that I actually wouldn't mind Lampard in some respects. Always thought he did a decent job at Chelsea first time round when they were under a transfer embargo. Brought a few youngsters through. You would've thought he'd have good connections with getting players in on loan too. I know he was ****e at Everton but even ancelotti didn't have the best time there.
This is Sunderland so we have as much chance of announcing Marti Caine as our new manager. (The older supporters amongst us will know).

Press at the Academy sounds more "important" than a new Head Coach. Perhaps Speakman is being replaced?

TBH mate the press are so lazy they wouldn't turn out on the Friday, when the Euros start, just for Speakman.

He's been built up, by supporters, into a much bigger figure than he is imo.

And I doubt the club would want a big fuss, about all this, when we're looking for a manager ...

... people would just say it was a diversionary tactic.

My opinion.

Appreciate its your opinion but don't agree with this bit. He runs the entire footballing structure of the club, and the Head Coach / Manager reports into him.

That hasn't been built up by supporters. That's from the club direct.

His role coming / going is much bigger news than the Head Coach, who by the nature of our structure, should be easily replaceable.

Ideally, you'd want someone staying a few more years. Maybe if the next bloke has a bit of success, it will encourage him to hang around.

You'd hope so,but these release clauses seem to be in vogue atm and even a bit of success will have the vultures circling....the grass always appears greener to many.
