Given that it’s just a series of one-off dramas you can dip in and out anyway. Different people have their favourites, but ‘San Junipero’ is probably the closest to ‘the best’. ‘Hated in the Nation’ and ‘USS Calister’ are good too.
I love most of them to be fair. I thought White Bear was the standout episode of the first series, but it’s really grim. I should have said in my first post that the downside of San Junipero is that it’s so widely lauded because it’s so different to the other episodes in being happy so it might not be the best starting point either.I liked 'White Bear' and 'Shut up and Dance'. Both were nicely sick and twisted, but very gripping.
You're right, people on here should not watch San Junipero, they thrive on being miserable.I love most of them to be fair. Largely agree, and it’s telling that one of the other two episodes I recommended also has a ‘good’ ending when most don’t. For me though San Junipero’s ending is absolutely not the unambiguously happy ending that many people online seem to think it is, it’s philosophically complex and kudos to you for calling it good rather than happy.San Junipero is easily the best ever episode, but is one of only two or three episodes that actually has a 'good' ending.
If you want absolute misery, Shut Up and Dance is ****ing perfect.![]()

The entire series is clever, at its worst too clever for its own good, and one thing I particularly liked on USS Calister was how it took a particularly grim theme from part of the old Christmas special and twisted it into a much happier outcome, whilst still not being happy per se. So for all that the episodes are all stand alone they mainly fit into a broad recognisably near-future world that has an internal logic to it that carries across episodes.
Bottom line for me is that I might not love every episode, but it’s always genuinely thought provoking in a time of too much mindless ****e.
This thread is becoming a tad intellectual.
Never seen a single episode !Don't worry, Game of Thrones is back on in 11 days.

I have considered it a few times but I do like Scandi Noir so tend to gravitate to that .Poor soul... give them a go.

Don't think any of it matches up to Narcos yet Quill.!Fair enough. Scandi Noir is great.

Yes first 2 where excellent !Narcos is decent, but there are a few other series I think I prefer. I think the most recent season, although good, wasn't anywhere near as great as the first two.
IMO nothing has compared to Band of Brothers.
