Looks good Laurie. I'll order one. I see they deliver free to Canada. Although I'll probably go "Hull City" across the top and "Tigers" under the head. Did yours arrive yet? Any comments on the quality/fit?
Doesn't matter how many sing ' City Till I Die ' Its NOT a protest song. We have been singing it long before Mr Allam turned up. I always sing it.
I am not saying that they don't make any money, but the money you guys are talking about the top clubs don't make so why would a club in the bottom half of the league make it. Asia is not this huge goldmine that everyone is talking about, the TV rights is the big money coming from asia and that is split amongst the clubs evenly.
Exactly... the money won't be coming from ****ing shirts as they don't ever buy official shirts. The money Asia is through partnerships and TV and sponsorships.
TV money won't come directly to our club so why does it matter? So we play dog **** like today and change our name to Hull Tigers, the money is going to come rolling in? Just because we change to Hull Tigers means those partners and sponsors are going to change from giving their money to Man City to Hull Tigers instead. In percentage terms do you know how much of the revenue big clubs make is from asia? I doubt its even 3%.
evolve verb \i-ˈvälv, -ˈvȯlv, ē- also -ˈväv or -ˈvȯv\ : to change or develop slowly often into a better, more complex, or more advanced state : to develop by a process of evolution.
Cheers, Happy. You just reminded me that, even though life ain't perfect, there's always some fool who will go out of their way to prove they are . . . . . . There's also tends to be a strange belief, in some circles, that evolution is always for the better. Now can you just believe that, Happy?
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/ar...-force-Tigers-brink-extinction-sake-name.html interesting quote ... Whens CTWD's meeting then ?
Circles Fez? Circles?? We've moved on from Circles, now we multi-node network! Evolution isn't ALWAYS for the better, but as a poet once so succinctly said, a faint heart never ****ed a pig. (NB this might only make sense to ex military types, so if you're not one, please don't try analysing it). I know its easy for the Antis along with CTWD to make out this is all about trying to selling more shirts (it isn't) or that it's purely a spat with the council (it isn't) or finally that it will spell the end of our football club (it won't) and that this is just change for change's sake, but really, it isn't. We're trailblazing here. I know, change is scary enough, but doing it as a first step into a brave new world intensifies that fear. Don't worry fella's, it'll end up aaaaaaaaaallllllreeeeeeeeeeeeeeet.
Radio 5 live have just said CTWD are making their presentation this week ... What is going on this week then ?
We're making our written submissions this week, we don't meet the FA until February and the date of the FA vote hasn't been fixed yet. The FA obviously don't know the outcome of their members vote until after it's taken place.
This is my take on the reasons for the name change. Something has to be done to bring investment in. Hull City Association Football Club does not roll of the tongue easily. A shortened version of the name is used already Hull City. Take out the City and there is an opportunity to have a dig at Hull City Council. Tigers are a strong marketing brand image. The BRAND Hull Tigers is shorter than Hull City Association Football Club. Investment may come from a business that wants to use the PL and a strong brand image. Now this is just a thought. What happens if Assem Allam says to a Mayalisian billionaire, hey look Vince, fancy selling your club and buying mine, it's called Hull Tigers, he does have more chance doesn't he? Than if we stayed the same. So in the end, the chances are that we will end up being owned by some bloke with money who likes Hull Tigers anyway. If the FA agrees that is. I hope it see's sense and says no. But then no one has come up with any alternative, so forget supporters trust and think big to save the name.
