With all due respect OLM, why do you think posting made up ****e is helpful? Trying to scare people into supporting CTWD? There is already a Cardiff Dragons FC. http://cardiffdragonsfc.co.uk/ The FA already have rules in place, rules which we're following.
There are no specific rules on name changes, they're being written now and there's no rule that says a football club can't use the same name as a rugby club, the rules just state that you can't have two clubs registered with the FA with the same name. Tan has stated on many occasions he would prefer the name Cardiff Dragons, I'm hopeful that the possibility of other owners with a terrible reputation wanting to follow suit may help sway the FA into tightening up the rules, so I thought it relevant to this thread(I didn't create that image by the way, I just took it off someone's Twitter feed).
Just a little reminder, if you haven't already joined the Football Supporters Federation, then register here(it's free): http://www.fsf.org.uk/join/ They already had a decent contingent of Hull City fans, but the numbers have increased by 300 over the past couple of months. They will shortly be doing a poll of all Hull City fans re the name change and it's an important one, as they are one of the FA members that will vote.
Does that really need answering? I'm pretty sure they'll feel sad. What else do you expect them to say? I'm with Fez on this; Allam disgusts me with the things he's said and done. I'm fed up of hearing the latest shenanigans and being disgusted yet unsurprised. He's holding the club back with the stadium nonsense and his expectations on the pitch are unrealistic. We're fine while we're punching above our weight but for example if we stayed up for 3 years finishing 17th every time he'd see that as failure ans Bruce would be on his way. I can't wait for our next owner. As I keep pointing out - you're really not in a position to question other people posting made up ****e.
A timely reminder, thanks; now done. If anyone can't find it, when it offers a list of supporter groups don't look for CTWD alphabetically, just scroll to the bottom, it's there - probably due to late addition.
I would like to see him gone; there I have said it (it has been asked and said before). I have always added the caveat that I would prefer it to be in a manner that allows both him and the club to move forward with their separate existences. As for offering him your normal homage, he has a long way to go and bridges to build, and no way will he do that.
Ricardo, you took a bit of a hissy-fit this morning, even though I have tried very hard to understand your logic. Because you seem to think you stand for so many of the silent- thinkers, I am trying to understand how your stance is justified, so I can better understand your criticisms of mine. So let me offer what I think you have been telling me: You are anti-name-change. You support the actions of CTWD, as you refer people you know to their campaign. You are against the name-change from Hull City AFC to Hull Tigers. You might well accept a change to some name in the future, just not at this time or as you have said, ‘you are against this name-change proposal, but not against all name-change proposals that could ever be made.’ You would be in favour of the name being changed for a fixed period and then changed back to its original (whatever that is at the time – who could tell?) - basically a Yo-Yo named football club – investment would secure this for you. You wish to have the discretion to change your mind on name-change should circumstances change to suit your judgment call, but you will not allow Allam the discretion to change his mind about investment should the circumstances change to suit his judgment call. You believe that the purpose of challenging the position of Assem Allam is not to get him to listen, but to get the undecided to listen (sorry, but I don’t know what they are listening to). You think reminding the undecided that the club owner and chairman has lied, deceived and manipulated them is wrong; you believe he should be allowed to do it without challenge. You think that challenge is abuse, even though it is nothing more than the truth and totally irrefutable. They may be other salient points I could draw from your posts, but if I have any of these incorrect I will understand your point of view all the better for individual clarity, if any is required.
Yep, but he appointed him and deserves the credit, which makes the need for this thread so bloody sad, doesn't it.
I'm certain even Assem Allam would admit the appointment of Steve Bruce wasn't his own idea, and that he'd never even heard of him.
And there was me trying to be generous and not point out that someone else had to recover their credibility after his first cluster-****! Can't even be nice around here!
I should have said So Far he has been our joint best owner . If it goes tits up at least he tried when no one else looked like stepping forward.
I believe that at this point in our first PL season we had more points, that manager went on to keep us up. I prefer Steve Bruce. Your second point is a very good one, even though he had good background reasons for doing it.
