You're not taking in the facts people are giving you. 1 bottom half finish in his 11 years there, he won PFA manager of the year twice in his first three seasons at Everton you're splitting hairs over one poor season. Everton were in real danger of going down when he took over. That Everton job he did is one of the most successful long term managerial reigns in history of the PL when you take circumstances into consideration.
