No it was not Alonso did more overtakes than Hamilton last year and i think someone made more than Alonso but I can't remember who.
He is the best out there, he can turn a lap around. He is not good he is world-class
He is the most overrated driver in the history of f1. I just don't understand the appeal. He's not ayrton senna, the sooner he realises that, the better.
Competitive overtakes. Passing not gaining during retirements or stuff like that, I read it somewhere on the internet.
When did he ever say he was Ayrton Senna? You talk so much ****. One day you will respect Lewis to the **** I spat back on.

Back on topic, Miggins I think you're missing a few things there (tyre management, driving in the wet, performance under pressure to name a few) but the most complete driver on the grid for me is easily Fernando Alonso, with Jenson Button a distant second.
Well apparently Sutil made the most 'proper' overtakes last season, followed by Massa and then Alonso and Alguersuari. Hamilton made the 6th amount of overtakes.
The problem with Alonso is that in 2007 and 2010 he was not able to pass his teammates so he used Team Orders to get passed. He had to use them in 07:

His wins in Monaco 2007, Germany 2010 and Singapore 2008 are yet to be fully justified.

Im a Hamilton fan but I would not say he is the most complete driver, he still has things to develop and learn. I would of said Alonso but Forza had a good point about including wet weather driving skills and tyre management into the criteria. Alonso is good at tyre management but I don't really rate him as a good wet weather driver, I think that is the only thing that Alonso lacks otherwise in terms of driver intelligence, overtaking skill, etc I think he is definitely up there.

I would actually agree with that. Forza's point however does not include team orders which Fernando has never been on the receiving end of(no problem) but has asked for them to be used. Alonso is quick and a good tyre converser and team motivator but lacks wet weather speed and empathy.
He lucked into the 2008 world championship, because felipe massa's engine blew in hungary. He called Alonso Prost to his Senna.
I thought that "Most complete driver" was Alonso's nickname. 
Wheel to wheel racing: For me this is more than just overtaking, it's all round race craft and Button is best at it for me. He pulls off some cracking overtakes, but he also defends well, he's agressive but at the same time clean and he doesn't run into people.
Driver Intelligence: It's a difficult thing to judge without speaking to the drivers on a regular basis, but the drivers I perceive as being intelligent are Barrichello, Schumacher, Alonso, Vettel and Di Resta. They all seem to have a solid technical understanding of how their cars work, and if F1 wasn't so expensive these days I could see them following the likes of Prost and Stewart and forming their own race teams.
Team Feedback: Schumacher and Barrichello.
Raw Speed: I prefer to look at this as qualifying performance, there's no point in being blisteringly quick if you can't hook a lap up in Q3. Alonso and Vettel seem to be consistently fast, Hamilton is very quick when he's in the zone, but tends to have more off days.
Development: From an engineering point of view you want a driver who can set fast lap after fast lap so you can see exactly what the changes are doing. Vettel, Alonso and Kubica excel in this department for me.
Tyre Management: I think Button and Vettel's superior tyre management made the difference for them in Hungary. Yes they were on the right strategy, but the way they kept their tyres in good shape until the end of stints gave their engineers more flexibility over which strategy they were on. Perez seems very good in this area as well.
Driving in the wet: Hamilton, Vettel and Sutil when it's full wet, Button if it's changeable.
Mental Toughness: Schumacher - winning seven world titles requires serious resolve. Alonso and Vettel were also immense at the business end of last season.
Consistency: Button, probably makes least mistakes. Kubica and Alonso are also very consistent.

Over the last few seasons I don't think there is a stand-out driver who has everything in his locker to say they are the 'most complete'.
All have their weaknesses and have shown them. It all depends what you look for. Does a drivers particular strengths weight out their weaknesses?
I see a lot of people have only focused on a drivers strenghts to determine their answers. Hardly balanced.
Anyway, if this thread was not designed to start the age old argument, then what was it for? We've been here many times before and it only ever ends up one way......... back to 2007 as always.........

I don't think there ever has been a driver who has everything, and I don't think there ever will be.
