So what are you suggesting? Should I check in several times an hour just in case? Should I supervise other mods and presumably vice versa? I can't be responsible for stuff that happens when I'm not on line. That's ridiculous.
I don't mind these threads though. They highlight the point that discretion's the best way of dealing with these issues, unless the goal is to get everyone at each others throat, which I suspect isn't far off line for some.

If you are going to quote me then at least be factual, nowhere have I said that I don't like the mods, all I said was stop trying to pass the buck over the other thread and I asked why it wasn't moved to general thread where it should have been as agreed by Tommytiger on another thread.
You hijacked it to suit yourself and that is why I said that maybe you should take your own advice.
None of the mods have yet answered the questions concerned BTW.

I'm sick of the mod bashing, people give up their time to try and help and there's always going to be some who don't agree with some of the decisions made. If you don't like the way this site is moderated, then **** off to another City forum, there's plenty of them.

The title of this thread makes the type of conversations and questions taking place far more relevant than the nature of some topics on the joke thread; a clearing of the air does no harm and folk have a right to question without being called tarts. There are, for me, a couple of questions I would appreciate an answer to, this in open forum as is relevant to the subject of the thread:
1. DMD, do you accept that your email,about closing and giving it thought, was misleading and a mistake?
2. DMD, do you agree the thread should have been closed when you abdicated responsibility to PLT? If not why not?
3. As a guide for posters, can some one state whether or not heavy racist humour and gratuitous jokes about baby rape and the other inference that a dead baby is better than a black baby is acceptable on NOT606 Hull City? It is clear, unfortunately, that this guidance is necessary.
Harping on about the efficiency and morality of WYP has absolutely no credibility unless we understand our own moral code and from I have seen so far, it is falling well short of general expectation.

I'm considering making an award to be given to the poster that asks the same daft question the highest number of different ways. I'm guessing the winner will be the same person that fills the board with the highest number of off-topic disruptive posts complaining about off-topic disruptive posts. It's ironic that some on here would probably try to ban the site owner from here if they saw some of his posts.
For me, the 'mistake' is people on a mission that create s ill-feeling where a more measured approach could keep the board smoother.

If you don't like poor taste jokes, don't read them. I suspect that 80% of the texts that the majority of posters on this board receive are precisely the sort of poor taste jokes that were on that thread(Though I've only read the first couple of pages). Most can read a sick joke without being a sick person.
