All I can add is that I don't think my poor old mum would have any care workers to call in on her if it wasn't for women coming to the UK from outside the EU (usually Africa) and being willing to take on that dreadfully under-paid but vital work.
I'm sure the same can be said for many types of crucial but under-funded and overlooked branches of medical & social care. In and out of the NHS.

None of which are given any attention by Government ministers, as they all use Private medical & social care - of course. As do their Daily Mail reading followers.
All we hear from Sunak & Co is "Cut immigration. Make it tougher to come here."
Ooh, the irony.
Well who do they expect to do the thankless care work needed by millions of pensioners and vulnerable folk?
Young British people won't do it for the pittance they are paid and the social status of the job - just below litter picking and bagging road-kill apparently.
Certainly far below getting groped by the perv supervisor at McDonald's.
Lurching ever further to the right on these issues is helping
nobody.
Not even the Tories themselves. Because their tough rhetoric masks only bungling and incompetence.
Even Daily Mail readers will only lap up the patter for so long if the reality is unregulated chaos.
