The vast majority of sex offenders and abusers of women are undocumented, because their victims (wives, partners, relatives) don't dare report them.
'Stranger danger' although it is appalling and totally unacceptable, comprises only a small fraction of sex offending.
Offending by men in a family / domestic context also often continues for years on end and makes its huge number of female victims live in fear and misery their whole lives.
There is no evidence that strangers from migrant communities of any kind are more likely to offend than strangers of UK heritage.
Not because the evidence is being hidden. Because it simply doesn't exist.
I'm not referring to organised crime (sexual or otherwise) - there is plenty of evidence of that among migrant communities. But I don't know whether there is a higher proportion of criminal gang membership among any ethnic community that there is among native Brits. And if there is, the proportion of gang criminals from legal migrants is likely to be much higher than among illegals. I would guess ten times as many (roughly the same as the proportion of legal to illegal immigrants as the general, non-criminal, population).
There are good and bad people in all foreign communities, just as there are good and bad British people.
I believe the real issue is a centuries old antagonism towards Islam in the UK, which has lingered since the time of the Crusades.
Hundreds of thousands of refugees have come to the UK in the last 50 years. Hindu Asians fleeing Idi Amin's Uganda. Cambodians. Hong Kong Chinese. Ukrainians. None of these people share a common culture with native British people. But (a tiny minority aside) none of these people are Muslims either.
Illegal immigration is a serious problem.
But I believe it is being used as a smokescreen by some powerful people (in the media, politics and the establishment) who believe that Islam is the real threat. They may or may not have a legitimate concern in that respect.
Yet they know it is in their interest to keep their true motives shrouded in false patriotism.
Anyway, enough of this gloomy stuff from me for the moment.
The weekend is coming, and despite the unhappy prospect of a possible drubbing by Millwall, I'm going to re-focus on the football again
