Anybody else on here experience them ?

I get what are called silent migraines, no actual pain, just massive visual disturbance and then feeling completely washed out for the remainder of the day. Starts off with a sort of blind spot in my right eye, almost like when you've accidentally looked directly at the sun, it then develops into a zig zig snake like pulsing and flashing band, that gets bigger and bigger until it fades out of the periphery of my vision.

Whole thing lasts about 30 mins. Sometimes I can get along with the visuals, but often they happen at the most inopportune moments, like driving the van. So I just have to pull over and wait for it to pass.

Anyway, anybody got any tips ? I got prescribed some nasal spray thing from the GP once and it was ****. I've also used Feverfew which helps a bit. But I'd be keen to hear other people's experiences and anything that's helped.
I used to get them occasionally from my teens and still do. Good thing is I notice them less now because of the pain from my bad back and osteoarthritis.

So my advice is - just give it time. The misery and pain of old age will make them seem trivial by the time you reach 60.

In the meantime don't apply for jobs as a pilot or train driver.

The other thing that you might want to check is that your water supply is not contaminated by run off from the tailings dumps of all the lead mines in your area. Those are also the symptoms of acute lead poisoning.

Yeah I started wondering about Radon poisoning at one point. But my house is so old and draughty that I don't think it's a problem. I'm not one for hermetically sealing up houses anyway, I don't think it's very healthy.

Don't think there are any lead mine run offs in the immediate area, the reservoir near me is on the top of a hill and away from the mines, that said my house is probably fed with lead pipes. But I filter all of my water anyway.

Or that you are a ***** vegan **** and need to man up

ps if the worst happens can I have your bookmark collection

I did wonder if people might think I wrote this thread fishing for sympathy, then I remembered that @luvgonzo once posted a thread about taking himself to A&E thinking he was having a heart attack and it turned out to be indigestion.
