The players on the pitch should have been good enough to compete with Boro. Dawson and Davies are as good a back pair as Chambers/Gibson, even though I do like Gibson, Mason and Livermore as well as Snodgrass should be as good as anything they had on the pitch. Negrado has hardly pulled up any trees for them, and Dio to his defence had **** all service.

I am not saying there were as good on the night obviously they weren't, but if they played anything like we know they can they should have been more than good enough.
They were completely stifled due to the way that Phelan had set them up. As someone else said the players would be better off managing themselves, there's no way that they would set up so defensively against a relegation rival. It's total lunacy to have Robbo and Elmo's ways blocked by a five man midfield, little ****ing wonder that we were hemmed in our own half!

So you believe we should be mid-table and its all Phelan's fault?

This is the point.

Where do we expect to be?

Worst prepared PL side ever. 9 players in the squad photo.

Haven't we actually won more games than we had this time in 2014/15 under Bruce? After a summer of massive spending and 'winning' the transfer window? In 09/10 we didn't have a great start either. Can anyone tell me what 'par' is for this team and squad? Is it really any higher than 20th? If so, which team do you think should be expected to finish below us?

I think YOU must have misread that post, he's just said it's Phelans fault ....... ''No, I believe we should be playing better than we have done for weeks and it's Phelan's fault''.

PS I have spare spectacles cleaner if you need it.

He was asked if he thought it was ALL Phelan's fault and he said 'No' but we should be playing better and that was down to Phelan.

I get your point there but I think Phelan would say it was working, and the only thing that made it not work was absolutely shocking marking at a set piece. For some reason that's been an issue all season and it's hard to put your finger on why.

I think there are more goals from set pieces overall this season, possibly due to the clampdown on players holding.

was at the game last night and I thought Henriksen was our best attacking threat. Genuinely surprised to see him get so much stick.

I saw some poorly executed attacking build-up play, but no defender would have felt threatened, because they weren't.

Just reading Curtis Davies saying that we have to 'spend to survive' ...

"We made signings in the window and they have come in and done their bit but because they were all left until the last minute I don't believe the manager had enough time to explore all his options," he said.

"It's hard but we have to deal with it -- we have to keep going.

"We need someone who can put the ball in the net. Our first shot on target was in the 92nd minute and that is not good enough."

I think last night proved that there is a lack of trust between any of the players, no leader on the pitch, no unity that existed at the season start. No one is enjoying playing for Hull City. But what message does this send out ...

Really?! Seriously?

They've got Negredo up front. We've got Diomande who couldn't make our bench in the Championship most of the time. They've got creative players in Ramirez and co in their midfield and attack. We've got a load of defensive centre mids, no creativity and only one winger. We go 1-0 down and all we can bring on is Bowen, Huddlestone and Meyler.

I think people just look at Boro and us as both being bottom end, recently promoted sides and think therefore we must be on a similar level to them. We're a million miles behind them. They finished above us in the summer and then signed about 10 quality players. We struggled at the end of last season, lost half our squad to other clubs or to injury, lost our manager and entire coaching staff, signed a handful of players in the last two days of the window who seem to have been picked out of a hat by Ehab, got even more injuries since then and now are making up the numbers by chucking kids into the first team.

And people think we should be able to compete because it's only Boro. Obviously if we played a trendier formation and Jak was in goal we'd be mid-table.

Hugely over-egged as always. We could compete better if played correctly. I won't bother repeating OLM's words as he has it right. As does John.

Who supplied the pass for Diomande's 1 on 1 run at the goalkeeper?

Still, let's not let facts shroud the witch burning.

I thought we started okay, looked the better side for the first five, then something happened. We turned to Dogtod SQUARED.
Too many players running down blind alleys. too many misplaced passes. Nothing happening up top...I've said it on here before and I'll say it again Livermore's never had any pace, but he's down to walking pace. Mason and Hendrickson are far too light weight. Time for Thud to return and Meyler (yes, that's how bad things are) to add some steel in midfield. Sadly, even Snodders didn't look up for it against what was a workmanlike Bro side. On that evidence both City and Bro will be vying for the bottom spot.

Is that it, the threat? Facts, witch burning, arrant nonsense; you seem to have it all.

How did that run end up?

Well that was easy :emoticon-0136-giggl
A rival relegation side playing like a petrified championship side
You should be embarrased :emoticon-0102-bigsm

A lot of mugs saying we are an embarrassment etc. Nobody cares anymore. If the people who own the club can't be bothered to take the league seriously, how can you expect the fans to? It's sad. Not funny. Just sad.

On the bright side, Marshal's best game yet.

Maybe there is a goalie in there somewhere.

The game at Boro needed a positive approach but Phelan chose instead to be cautious, to go for a draw and maybe nick a goal for the win. Fortune favours the brave and I'm afraid Phelan has shown himself to be a fat, bald coward. He makes Bruce look like Bill ****ing Shankly. Before kick-off I bought tickets for Spurs. My god, they will demolish us unless we stop being so passive.

'bald' is so 1990's.
Your going to Spuds? Geez, ram a KCOM yellow pages down the back of your pants and take an abacus to keep the score.
