That seems pretty harsh 4eva, Nugents far from **** and Vassell has been played out of position for all of last season, i would have them 2 and Gally as a front 3.

If we get promoted, yes we may need new strikers, but we will have alot more options.

It'll be funny when we play Florists. I can imagine Johnson and Andy Reid walking up the tunnel together, then the two 'fat lads' getting stuck side by side in the exit! That'd be a cracking reason for the match being abandoned, 'Lardies stopped play'.

Quality addition IMO, I remember him when he was at Man City prior to his injury, seem to recall him scoring against Derby on the second match of the season. If he can get to 70% of where he was then, he'll be fantastic for us in this level. As for our midfield, it looks AMAZINGLY strong and I'm sure Mr King and Mr Wellens will be rather nervous about their places now!

Lesta; where you on the old <ale> last night? ;)

Nugent? Ive seen him play, great CCC player.. Can he overcome mediocrity and make a name for himself at the kpstadium? Iono.

Remember the season west brom n bham went up. Nugent is the equivalant to BCs old phillips. Bench players.
We want 2 strikers to keep the pace and score us to promotion.

Yall are dumb anyway money grows on trees p.s nugent was a FREE

2 strikers, 7.5 mil? Job finito

Speaking of that, I'm actually beginning to hope Fernandes doesn't sign. It will make those people on Foxestalk happy who seem to really hate Wellens and want him dropped for a player who failed at Man City and hasn't proven himself or done anything in a Leicester shirt yet. Or for Abe, just because he's Japanese and smiles a lot (I really do think this is how a lot of our fans see him - a novelty Asian bloke).

One of them actually said he was 'League 1 standard at best'. I wouldn't mind if they were these minority posters who got the piss taken out of them but everyone seems to think they're 'reasonable'. To put it into context, the same bloke said Yakubu deserved more money because he's African and needs to fund his charities <laugh>.

What I'm getting at is, can somebody explain why Wellens is so unpopular with the fans? I could understand it with Kermit, Neilson and other ****ty players, but it pisses me off a bit when it's a very decent player, and IMO one of the best in the whole squad.

Wellens is good quality championship standard, he is yet to be proven in the prem. Abe is good championship standard and also yet to be proven in the prem, Abe has only been in the country a few months, I believe in two years he will still be with us where as Wellens may have moved on, Abe has settled well and I still believe we have yet to see the best of him, he has played 65 times for his country and has a lot on experience, I hope & believe this will be a good season for him.

I think if we get promoted we might have to move Wellens on, it depends on how he is towards the end of the season as he is getting on a bit. I just hope his legs dont go as quick as Oakley's did

If Gelson, Johnson, Danns, King, Abe, Gallaher get stuck straight in, I could see Wellens off in January?

wellens is going to score 11 goals .. no wait thats king.

Wellens is an ok holding midfielder but his personal contribution in attacking is bad.
However, he is a leader. He will put himself about in any situation, includin cup games

    cough.

Wellens isnt a goalscoring midfielder. If you want to compare Wellens to King as in terms of goals, Wellens creates as much goals as King scores. King doesnt create much and Wellens doesnt score much

I am thinking Abe Wellens or Johnson, believe Abe and Johnson will be in and Wellens plays in now and then

I think with Danns and Johnson coming in King will now realise he cant let his form slump like it did towards the end of last season because if it does they will be someone else to take his shirt

Think Nugent could be a main player for us this season, Johnson when fit will be a hell of a player aswell! imo Andy King as got to
get more involved in a game and not go missing like he did last half of last season or he will be struggling to get in the side
some players are going to be very disappointed this year

Abe is a decent player but he's got to improve quite a bit from last season to warrant being in the starting 11.

I've got nothing against him, it just annoys me that some players are bummed when they are nothing special and others are hated despite being good.

Wellens is not a goalscoring midfielder, he's a tough creative midfielder. His passing and vision are easily Premiership standard, he'd have been playing there years ago if he had pace or scored goals.

Exactly why he is still in Championship! he will be hear for this season at most, I think depending on our league position and Jan signings, maybe gone in Jan, I believe he is now one of the weakest we have.

Davro - Go and prove me wrong!

MJ is a quality signing, perhaps your best yet. Is that 10 new players now? Been a highly eventful pre-season for you lot.

    I make it 9 <ok>

i personally would say that Mills, Danns and Konch are better but if Johnson can get back to his best then we have a potentially lethal midfielder.

    Are you serious?

Wellens could walk into any team in this division (West Ham not included) because he is brilliant.

His vision and passing are second to none in this league and his experience makes up for his lack of pace.

In fact, I bet he creates more than half of Kingys goals.

    I can't believe what I'm hearing!

He was our player of the year last season - but is worse than Abe (who's done OK but not much really) Oakley (really?) and Danns (at relegation battlers for a while now) ? I can understand the argument for why King (other than score he generally does little, but I'd struggle to choose between the 2 of them) and Johnson (obviously Premiership quality when fit and on form) are better, but really, the other 3?

If he left I really think we'd miss him, one of the most important players in our team.
