Scored some vital goals for us..
Leeds header 2-0..
Liverpool 2-1
Sheff Utd 5-3

A legend....Not blessed with pace...But a decent player...

Interesting really, can't pass for **** but is an excellent finisher, strange.

It's weird isn't it. He's been one of our most reliable finishers around the box for years, yet never one of the more skillful players in other senses. Makes you wonder why other more gifted players can't just twat it home like he does.

And vice versa. It must be put down to handling pressure?

I do wonder how many people would call Ashbee rubbish if he played now.

Presumably the people who don't think much of Meyler I guess.
I do think you can not rate a player but still see their importance to a team.

It was probably a majority that didn't rate him at least until the PL days. I think by the time we got to the PL with him pretty much everyone was convinced.

He's going to be important for us for the remainder of the season. He just makes the team tick. Sometimes less obvious players are the most important players in the side.

Recall coming out of Upton Park after a two-nil defeat and Danny Pratt slating Ash... I thought he'd done okay, except for the hospital pass to Bullard, which put him in A&E.

Personally first name on team sheet every week, give him the armband aswell. Plays out his skin despite his own limitations and this league cries out for someone to launch themselves into huge challenges, no doubt in my mind we'd have more points on the board if that Larsson/Henriksen partnership had never left the training ground.
