I'm not saying it was a good squad, it wasn't, but it was capable of better than was achieved. The horrendous run, including the 'headless chicken George' period, was largely down to the way McCann set them up week after week after week. I'm convinced a more astute manager would have scraped enough points out of that squad to keep us up.

I agree with you just giving it some perspective too. We beat Middlesbrough so evidently had enough quality to get points but his stubbornness cost us, and I think that may be a factor in why he's lost his job now as if Coyle and Elder were fit I think we'd still be playing 4-3-3

I didn’t think the new owner would have been discussing severance packages with GM when informed, in all good intent, last November that a package had been agreed. That would have been highly irregular & bordering on immoral.
I presumed it was either the old owners, or bs.
The ITKers told us yonks ago that Grant's was happy with his severance package, so presumably he knew about his sacking then!

I’m not playing any kind of victim. That’s an idiotic statement to try & divert attention away from your inane attempt at stifling my opinion.
I will post what I like, keeping it civil & within the confines of the debate. I’ll ask questions for clarity & to determine consistency in answers. I’ll being up a poster’s historic posts if I believe they contradict what they are posting presently & question them about it. If I find people’s opinions slightly hypocritical I will say so.
This is, after all, a message board, An online forum where if you’re prepared to post content you should be prepared to have that content questioned. You certainly question plenty, so how about letting others do the same.
For heavens sake, we had owners who wanted to have media coverage without using the media. The whole confidential information bit is not valid. There has always been news traffic from within the different sections of the club. The team and the club itself. Some of this is pure spin, some is a desire to make the local news media look foolish and some is genuine. Quite a bit in my humble opinion originates right from the horses mouth. And that could be Ehab, Acun or Grant, personally I do not give a ****. But the mainstream media, should stop second guessing and start reporting fact not media gossip. I stop reading any reports that start with or include "social media."
