ENOUGH of the personal ****e. It's boring. People have posted information on here in good faith regarding what is/was a dynamic situation, so even if they were right at the time, things can change. Many, many people appreciated the updates, and they're not liable to feel inclined to post them if they get challenged for trying to share what they can. It's ridiculous to try and hold a poster on a message board to the same standards that should apply to the state media and 'professional' journalists.
Players didn't turn up, but Grant set us up to lose every game, we needed 5 points to stay up and we didn't once look like getting 1. Squad was awful but persisting with 4-3-3 with no fit right back is entirely his fault. Look at the change he's made now and how it's benefitting us.
I stated quite clearly last night that HT2 posting last November that GM had been spoken to, told he was on his way & was happy with the compo (even though GM supposedly had given him permission to release that info) was no better, or worse, than the BBC releasing it at the weekend. The issue here is that it’s the ITKers who have spent the last 6 months revealing confidential info now getting het up about the BBC doing the same. I find it a little hypocritical.
Journalist reporting Shota's flight from Istanbul has been delayed because of snow so doesn't think he'll be sacked today.
Cancel Culture Absolute garbage of course they should be questioned if the info is considered contradictory & untrustworthy. That’s opinion & should not be cancelled or silenced.
It's all over the internet isn't it ? So obviously yes, but there are ways and means of doing it and announcing it which should be between the club and the people involved. Going back a few years I had an issue with the HDM ( and I used to work there a long time ago) I contacted them about something I had heard about the club and asked why they were not reporting on it and the inevitable happened a week or two later. It could have been about ticket prices or reduced capacity during the Boothferry Park days. I received a telephone call at home off Colin Young who was the City reporter then, now working on one of the big nationals, and he bereted me for even bringing the subject up, shouting down the phone. 'We don't deal in speculation' That very same night I was at a City fund raising dinner and bumped into Colin Young and introduced myself as the person he'd been screaming at a few hours earlier.
You've made the same point many times, and had it responded to. Time to accept that not everyone agrees, and wait until you have something new to add to your argument. It's not cancel culture, it's being aware of other posters.
Baz's live blog which said they were "hoping" to get confirmation of his sacking was obviously not on, but was surely an honest mistake since it's so out of character with the rest of his output, which has been very respectful and understanding of McCann even when the fanbase has been calling for his head. Aside from that faux pas, the local media have just been reporting on what is the big story currently. They must have gone and got confirmation of McCann's imminent sacking from Acun or one of his team, in the wake of the Turkish journalist reporting it. They wouldn't be saying "we've had it confirmed" otherwise. If anyone has been disrespectful to McCann by letting it leak in this way, it's his employers by leaking it. No journalist is going to ignore it once it's out there.
Tbf, I don't think the squad was 'awful'. It really wasn't that bad; there should have been enough in it to keep us up. I'd add 'had to' (look at the change he's had to ...). We should have stayed up but he was too arrogant , inflexible and niaive ... or just too weak to stand up to Ehab & LD. But, been done to death.
His attacking options were Eaves, Magennis, 18 year old KLP, 20 year old Wilks, Samuelsen, James Scott. Midfield was headless chicken honeyman, Leo Da Silva and the glass Jon Toral. George Long was awful after the turn of the year, and the defence we fielded for that run now mainly play in L1. Was awful, but still good enough to get 5 more points which is down to Grant and recruitment.
It’s maybe time for them to accept not everyone agrees with them & they should stop responding. Giving people the go agead to respond to me but advising I should not respond is definitely cancel culture. It’s not personal to hold people to account for, or question, what they’ve posted. If so the reply button should be scrapped. Maybe it’s you that needs to stop the personal ****.
JDW and Burke barely played post Covid, he opted for Macdonald and Tafazolli more, Pennington as well.
Okay, given you don't want people to respond, I'll take that as your final word on the subject until you have something new to add.
