It was ****ing time too. For the greedy glazers to put their hands in their pocket and spend some of that free money- hundreds of millions they got by grabbling the club using bank loans.

Surprised that Maureen let him go to United. It shows that he does not rate him. Doubt he would have let Hazard or Ramirez come to us. Howver, as good as Mata is, he can only the start of the rebuilding process. Look at all the spending stats over the last decade. Even the deluded ******ed scousers spent more than United (without winning the league). Fergie saved the Glazers hundreds of millions since they "purchased" the club by using his old players. These at the end of their careers were not likely to respond in the same way to a new manager.

We still need three or four big names to get back to compete. yesterday's "defeat" was not even a shock which is an indictment in itself. When did we see United clinging to a 1-0 lead when a goal would put them out, against Sunderland of all teams?

**** team which needs to be rebuilt and Mata can only be the first small step! <ok>

Will he though? I'm sad mata is leaving, but he's terrible defensively, even when he tries. If united are going to play Januzaj/Mata on the wings, well, i feel sorry for their full backs.

I was referring to you being concerned about defence <ok>

Mata won't stop them conceding but Man City and Liverpool have a poor defence too without it causing too much harm because they have a superb attack.

The opponent can't score if they don't have possession. And I sound like Brod there <laugh>

Can't believe what Chelsea have allowed to go on here, they have provided United with a significant lifeline and as has been shown before by the purchase of Van Persie and Ozil, it doesn't take an awful lot for teams to be invigorated.
Much of the problem for United has been the lack of speed between defence and attack, Mata will be the massive difference to transform this.
This may well be a ploy by Mou to try and halp Utd take points off City and Arsenal but what he has effectively done is given Utd a real chance of getting 4th and screwing Liverpool and Spurs. In addition, the heat coming off them and being in a much beeter position to acquire top players in the Summer to make them a real threat again.
The saving grace from a non Utd supporter perspective is that there is still the shadow of a useless manager at the helm.

But this morning, all Liverpool and Spurs fans know that this puts a real dampner on their top 4 chances.

Mata won't stop united from leaking goals.

Our problem is scoring goals.

Yes we are leaking thrm but how many 1 goal defeats have we had? How many low scoring draws?

A player like mata turns those into positive results. Just like rvp did. It doesnt solve the defensive issue but with the attack we will have the defensive issues will have a get out of jail card.

Surely it depends on what Chelsea have lined up? If they use that money to bring in a top quality striker like Falcao, Ibramovich, Cavani, etc (examples only) then wouldn't it have been good business for them?

Its more to do with ffp than anything else.

And the fact Jose is a massive united fan of course.

Yes but the point is well made that Mata can only improve United. To what extent is yet to be seen. But United having already played Chelsea, that improvement if it takes points off City and Arsenal can only benefit Maureen. It might even have an effect on 4th place who knows. The deluded scousers will have been overjoyed with Maureen selling Mata to United...<ok>

That's more to do with moyes being a defensive minded manager. You won't start scoring goals until moyes philosophy changes.

Even under moyes rvp while short of form was banging goals in. Rooney has continued to score and assist plenty.

Add mata to those two and even **** **** moyes cant **** that up.

How often were you winning 3-0 though? When united scores first, they sit back.

You bet? No I am joking. Moyes have been left an awful legacy. Old players coming to the end of their careers, poor midfield, a **** incompetent CEO, a club replacing the top directors at the wrong time. He made big mistakes too. Dismissing the coaches who were the only link for the players to the successes they recently enjoyed. Suddenly for them everything is new and they are playing for a new "club". Give him time and he'll come good...<ok>

Exactly. Thats the main reason I want moyes gone.

Hes now got the players to never do that again. If he doea he should be chucked off a cliff.

Hes been left a fantastic legacy. He just doesnt have a clue what hes doing.

Thanks for letting me know how I should be feeling <ok> <doh>

Mata does improve Man Utd but the quote you responded was talking about Chelsea <ok>
