Most people south of Watford have the same idea's that's if any of them actually know where Hull is on the map. But its just the general derogatory remarks from Southern folk about a lot of Northern cities, Hull happens to be singled out simply because of sheer ignorance about the area in general. If Hull had had a fraction of the money splashed around like it was in London for the Olympics then a lot of much needed redevelopment could have taken place, but it will never be because it hardly ever gets any financial help, and so the view prevails.
As far as Londoners are concerned they couldn't give a toss about anything outside the Capital and have this misguided/blinkered view about the rest of the country let alone Hull. Interesting to see what effect if any the so called Olympic legacy has on the rest of the country also.
Vito's said nothing wrong - he may just be repeating the views he's picked up from other Arsenal players..
He can't take them seriously when you have silly bastards like Gervinho and Song with their crazy barnets spouting forth.
Vito can't help the fact that Arsenal fans are either illiterate or have the attention span of gnat with ADHD.
Isnt he actually saying what amounts to "I'd heard bad things about Hull but when I went there I actually liked it". Isnt that what we say to everyone who slags the place off - actually come here before you form an opinion. I think it's positive what he said.
No mate, he's not one of those. He's more likely to do a rim job( on a bloke) than any of that malarkey.
he's being brash but honest and actually he is highlighting the fact that reputation shouldn't come into play... a lot of our players have really loved the club and the people that run it... as far as the city go, it's not as entertaining as London might be but I don't take his statement badly whatsoever
Gervinho is definitely a silly bastard. I've never liked him and I don't really know why. On the first day of last season when Joey Barton was still at Newcastle, and he started on Gervinho for pulling a ridiculous dive I actually found myself siding with Barton. He's got proper stupid hair too.
Someone within the Club needs to tell him not to sign another deal! We'll be snapping him up next Summer hopefully.
Well I got a news flash for them people down in London, I come to the UK for a month every summer and the last place I would want to spend time is down the smoke. I took my son to the Millwall game 2 years ago and showed him our capital for a couple of days and last year when we came I said where do want to go and he said "anywhere but London" ha ha ha. This year he brought his girlfriend and I asked her if she wanted to see some olympics and she said no I do'nt want to go to London I have heard bad things about it so I took em to Old Trafford for the Egypt V Japan game instead which they enjoyed. On top of that my American inlaws came and I asked them the same question and all 8 of them said the same thing, not interested in getting involved in that rat hole so I met them at Glasgow airport and we spent a week in Edinburgh for the fringe festival and some trips up to the highlands that kind of thing and they loved it. We saw York and Lincoln, Whitby, some north yorks moors, and of course Hull which they all agreed was a fascinating city with amazing history. Bottom line is London really is a ****hole and has a reputation for being so and very few people who visit our shores spends more than a couple of days there see a few famous sights then get the hell out of the place and enjoy what is the real Britain much more.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19659287 Vito story on the BBC site, doesn't look like he said anything unreasonable at all
Sorry John, but you sound like a cockney talking about Hull. Both views are equally misguided, both have ****holes, both have nice areas, it's just like any other city, but bigger.
