Foolish little boy mateYes, I just cant believe he's joining a club where he won't be first choice. In a championship level club. It's crazy.

Bordeaux wine is lovely mind!!This is a farce
Latest comment from Bordeaux manager. Paraphrased.
"I know him a little bit, but we have a group of specialists for that (presume he means recruitment team). We need a goal scorer and he scores goals. It is a physically difficult championship, you have to be very strong in front and have the quality of a goalscorer. He's a young player, knowing that a young player does not have that quality right now, he gets ready, he improves, it is fine. But he's a young talent."
So looks like he isn't even guaranteed 1st team football in a league that's championship standard at best.
Can only presume his family wants to drink Bordeaux wine and have a nice place to go on holiday. Bordeaux aren't going to be offering him massive wages imo.

Thats what I thoughtChrist, club clearly not happy with him — no thanks, no well-wishes, nothing. Tells me all I need to know, he's clearly acted like a bit of a **** throughout the process.

Don't know where you get that from. They've won 6 league titles since 1881 whilst we've won 6 since 1890. And they average less in Ligue 1 than we do in the English 3rd tier. This page seems quite bitter about Maja leaving. The standard in French football isn't the greatest and I think he's got a fair chance of being a success with Bordeaux. In footballing terms, Sunderland aren't on the same level as, Bordeaux, currently or historically. I can see why he's left, definitely.
The lad didn't let any of it affect his performances and he continued to knock them in regardless of the speculation. Good luck, Josh!
If you travelled around the world asking people if they'd heard of Sunderland football club or Bordeaux football club, I would imagine everybody would have heard of Bordeaux, but definitely not Sunderland. Bordeaux have played in Europe, a lot. They're known as quite a big club, in Europe. We aren't.Don't know where you get that from. Heard of Bordeaux, certainly, but the FC?
