On Sky Website now MAJA WON'T BE PENNING NEW BLACK CATS DEAL Sunderland striker Josh Maja has told Sunderland he will not be signing their contract offer. Fifteen-goal Maja had until today to give his answer to the club and we understand Maja met with them this lunchtime, despite telling boss Jack Ross yesterday he wanted to stay. Huddersfield, Palace and Cardiff are all interested, with the player's contract is up in the summer.
Got a call from Sky TV? Agents are ****ing pond life, let’s tell Sky before the club. It’s a problem but we are in League One, even an average striker can score goals in our side. We will be sound. I do t get, if a player wants to stay and agent says ‘naaa’. Do these ****ers not have their own minds? Someone tells me to do summat I don’t wanna do I tell them to **** clean off
What a kunt. Youd think hed have learnt from his best mate Asoro who hasnt played for Swansea since Sept that the grass isnt always greener.
Agents are scum of the earth. Nothing but trouble. Disappointing, but if we sell now his stock is as high as it ever may be. We should clean £5m-£6m easy.
Might get lucky as teams are desperate for gaols in January. We might see £4million plus, and there’s no guarantee the lad will ever be worth that.
Frustrating isn't it, don't understand how players can take no responsibility for their future and just do what their agents tell them like a mindless chump. If you want to stay then take your x7 pay rise and sign the contract you tit.
Josh - in any walk of life , the more you ply your trade when you’re young , the more chance there is you will become very good . Spend a couple of years on the sidelines and see how you pick it up again later. With the clubs mentioned it’s not as if you can even say that youd be training alongside Aguero or Sala. If agents can force players into these decisions then the f a and union need to stop them . If they cannot , then, I hope you do not live to regret it Josh , although I believe that you will .
Someone will take a punt on him. Maybe I've over estimated a touch but I don't think I'm far off. If they risk letting his contract run down it could end up at a tribunal and they may not want to take the chance.
Plus is he going to get the bespoke training on improving the weaker parts of his game that he does here? Maybe but I doubt it. He's a class finisher but he still needs a lot of work and he was getting that at Sunderland. Moving to a better team will most likely put the brakes on his development unless he's first choice regularly.
Which may never happen if his development stops. He's incredibly foolish to leave us now IMO. He should sign and if he carries on the way he is he'll get an even better move in 12-18 months than if he moves now.
End of the day, won’t belittle the lad, he’s got a bit about him and he has a chance, but same token lads, he’s hardly Messi, he’s replaceable. I’m sure the club under the new regime are prepared for this and will have targets in mind already, Josh Maja will never be bigger than SAFC.
Is also the right response. If we can sort it out and keep him then great - business as usual. It's agent bullshit not Maja IMO.
I did read on FB that Margret Byrne is his agent as well not sure how true it is. SD has said not to get on his back he is going to try and get him to sign If he cant we should try to sell him this month for a decent fee plus sell on clause if we can get a replacement in (Maybe Lawrence Shackland who has been mentioned a few times)
