I've no problem with a manager criticising a player, Johnson does it quite often. But, to my mind, it should be reserved for playing errors, unnecessary red cards, bad tackles or whatever.

For a manager to pass the buck, the way Bruce has done, is out of order. It's for the manager and coaches to organise the team especially with substitutions. The team captain basically said it was a shambles.

I remember Bruce saying, when he was here, that he's not interested in tactics ...

... that's fair enough but he shouldn't put the blame on his players imo.
Don’t think I’ve heard Johnson criticise anyone individually. He often criticised a performance but doesn’t really single out players.

i always point out that many thousands of geordies support Sunderland, but I don't know of one person from Sunderland that supports newcastle.

From the Sunderland catchment area SOME ONE PINCHED MY SOMBRERO

I've noticed him doing it a few times but it's in a constructive way and quite logical. There's a difference between honest criticism and throwing a player under the bus as Bruce did. If a team is properly prepared and organised it should be obvious what happens if a certain sub comes on. In any case Bruce has absolutely no excuse at the moment, the grounds are empty and silent ...

... you can hear every word, from players and mangers, Bruce is 100% at fault.

LEE JOHNSON has told Remi Matthews not to be afraid of making further mistakes in the wake of the goalkeeping error that proved so costly as Sunderland were beaten at Shrewsbury Town on Tuesday night.

Sorry - l am being pedantic l know.
Washington is a part of the Borough of Sunderland and has many many black & white supporters - unfortunately.

If you were pedantic, you would realise that there is no such place as the borough of Sunderland as it was changed to the City of Sunderland in 1992

Maybe that’s why I don’t “see” it as it’s constructive and positive so it doesn’t come across as obvious criticism!
