We lost a generation of support to them from the early to mid 90s.

Sorry - misread 'any' as 'why'.

Don’t think I’ve heard Johnson criticise anyone individually. He often criticised a performance but doesn’t really single out players.

i always point out that many thousands of geordies support Sunderland, but I don't know of one person from Sunderland that supports newcastle.

I lived in Horden since born, there seemed to be more Newcastle fans after 1992!

Probably the case. I know a lot of the young black and whites have red and white fathers.
There’s quite a few of the lads on our bus from Horden. They’re all crackers!

According to all things black and white and Sky - yes. All the proper fans reckon it started before then :emoticon-0105-wink:

I've noticed him doing it a few times but it's in a constructive way and quite logical. There's a difference between honest criticism and throwing a player under the bus as Bruce did. If a team is properly prepared and organised it should be obvious what happens if a certain sub comes on. In any case Bruce has absolutely no excuse at the moment, the grounds are empty and silent ...

... you can hear every word, from players and mangers, Bruce is 100% at fault.

    https://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/s...lls-remi-matthews-not-afraid-making-mistakes/

LEE JOHNSON has told Remi Matthews not to be afraid of making further mistakes in the wake of the goalkeeping error that proved so costly as Sunderland were beaten at Shrewsbury Town on Tuesday night.

If you were pedantic, you would realise that there is no such place as the borough of Sunderland as it was changed to the City of Sunderland in 1992

Maybe that’s why I don’t “see” it as it’s constructive and positive so it doesn’t come across as obvious criticism!

I'd much rather have that than 'the lads gave me everything and we were unlucky to come out of that game with nothing'.

Bruce was a master of that shyte.
