The gift that keeps giving endlessly ...

.... too much to mention in this latest hilarious chapter <laugh>

"Cathedral on the hill" is my favourite.

(Translates as 'Rented ground on a slight incline.)

They've persuaded managers to stay? Wonder if they'll be begging Brucie to hang around while Fat Mike looks for the transfer budget down the back of his sofa...?

Pardew finished 5th, Benitez relegated them <laugh>

How come they couldn't persuade Rafa not to leave them for an obviously doomed trip to China?

Well done fat Mike, saved himself £4m in paying the cabbage heed off, another season in PL gets him another £150 m , and he can sit back and blame the awabs for dragging their feet over the takeover bid, he can't really lose can he? It's absolutely delightful. Howay Big Mike.

Bassas cost me a good wedge yesterday, though I always thought they would sneak enough wins when their best players were back .

But unless they are taken over, which might well still happen, it will be the same again next year, and not just for them. With the odd seasonal exception that league is grotesquely predictable.

ASM has made all the difference to that team, if there are any bids in for him i can see cashley grabbing the money with both hands and he will take some replacing...not just for his ability but i feel having him on the pitch inspires the rest.

Playing for a summer move? And Almiron has already said he wants to play for a team that fights more, sounds like the agents are mobilising again.

I'd say Almiron isn't good enough to draw interest from a big club mind, so it's just his pimp offering him around. St Maximin is though, and if there is no takeover , and no kungflu to scupper things, I imagine he'll be off.

It's not surprising the Mags are so deluded when their newspaper feeds them endless comfort food.

"John Gibson reveals that Sir Alex Ferguson very nearly became Newcastle manager."

"Ferguson was approached privately about coming to Newcastle United. He did consider it because of the fan base. This was when Newcastle were the Entertainers when they bought everybody and ended up with the world record for Alan Shearer and tried to sign George Weah and Roberto Baggio."

Oh yeah he was going to leave man utd to go to Newcastle because they could buy anyone.
We all know he wanted shearer and miss out, but hang on didn't he still beat them to the league title, so why would he leave to manage the smelly skunks

Sir Alex was extremely jealous of Newcastle as they had a faymas numbar 9, an airport, a Cathedral on the hill, were the entertainazz, and had the most "pashunit" fans in the world and Man. Utd could not give him that. He dreamed of being everybody's 2nd favourite team and blowing a 12 point lead in the league to finish 2nd in glorious failure at a club who hadn't won the league for over half their existence and hadn't won an FA cup for almost 60 years. Sadly it was not to be for Ferguson and he had to console himself with 38 trophies in his time at Old Trafford. <laugh>

I'm sure he was tempted to swap a huge fan base for a much smaller one.

One of my dads mates down here spent years in the navy and travelled all over the world.
Can't remember if royal or merchant or both, I'll ask him)
Since he left and now in his 70's he has travelled all over the world, even on 6 month cruises.

Having known me dad, every year he goes up to Newcastle for a week then spends a week or two in South Shields and visits Sunderland.

I was surprised when he told me the nicest city he's ever been.

    No not Sunderland.

    But close

    Durham.

    Aye, they asked him.
He said he'd think about it.
    Put the phone down.
    Pìssed his pants laughing.
    End of.
