Depends on how it is set up, but go back and read the posts as it paints a better picture than this brief comment.
The blog didn't oppose his sacking. It said from the outside it looked odd. The blog expressed sympathy to the Cardiff City fans for the "resign or else" way it had been presented. Nothing else. We have adopted no position on whether the sacking is deserved or not. Since the beginning of our campaign we have supported those Cardiff City supporters that want their team to play in blue. We have had no criticism for doing so. We feel that fans should have a say in the name, the colours and the badge. For us its the name, for Cardiff its the colours, only Everton have asked the fans and given them a choice over the badge. I want a fan owned club, Assem Allam can help achieve that. Our position on Assem Allam hasn't changed since day 1. In the meantime we take the fight against the name change to the FA Council.
Do you not see the danger though in pursuing an alternate objective. You can achieve keeping the name without having a fan-owned club. Your members have signed-up to keep the name, not to change the organisational ownership of the club.
Retaining our name is our current aim, we're also looking at setting up a trust but it hasn't happened yet, when it does we'll put it to our members, but until then, we're an anti-name change campaign group.
I support whatever will bring good football. If CTWD can deliver that, I'll sign up for membership this instant.
So Obi, will you be blogging every time another clubs manager gets sacked? How about blogging on how you support the Man Utd protests against the Glaziers? Or all the other clubs with their own issues on "bad" owners? Can we expect a blog from you every time something you feel is unjustified that affects other fans? First Hull City, then the FA? Are you just limiting your support of other fans to football issues or can we expect to see your views on the situation in Syria or the government monitoring of its citizens? Yeah, all stupid stuff, but you don't seem to see how the situation at Cardiff, which is none of your business, and didn't turn out like most people expected (yet, I admit) and you think CTWD are entitled to comment on it on their official blog. 1 issue campaign my arse. Chazz was right about you all along.
I don't like the sound of this at all. What do the ringleaders of a protest group know about running a football club?
All this fan camaraderie is nonsense anyway.... the Liverpool fans were polite to Mackay because they'd just thumped them 3-1. I can't imagine there would have been many applauses should Cardiff have won the game 1-0 on a dodgy penalty decision. As far as I'm concerned, I'm pleased that Cardiff are going through their current turmoil.
You are dead right. If Cardiff stayed up at our expense then we wouldn't give a flying **** about their problems.
We didn't give a **** about them before all this name change stuff blew up either. They know this too.
Really, so the name change must have been going on at least since party atmosphere after Deano's goal at their place, when Ridsdale got the champagne out..
That doesn't make any sense Dutch... Their colour changes and other shenanigans predate our name change one. Until the last month, we had no one calling for all fans to be united against the tyranny of owners, and with recent blogs the ante has been upped.
I thought there'd been a fair bit of discussion between us? For example, I was talking to a fair few of them about the Huddersfield shennanigans because of the earlier dialogues we'd had and that included joint support. Fans from other clubs joined that campaign too.
I would say that that assessment of Malky Mackay is closer to fact than opinion. He got Cardiff City promoted. He strengthened the team and beat Manchester City and Swansea City and drew with Manchester United. I would say based on his record most impartial outsiders think he has delivered. Steve Bruce certainly thought so when he said "From the outside they should be really thanking Malky, he has done a wonderful job... He gets them up, and is making a fist of keeping them up." The fact that we are outsiders means that we don't know all the facts about what happened so the blog refrained from saying he shouldn't be sacked.
But knows how to run a business, and understands leaving the running of a football team to the Manager.
Let's not forget, the Cardiff fans would have pissed themselves laughing for spoiling the KC party had Leeds scum not done us a favour at Watford.
Are his customers happy? No Is 'his' club running at a profit? No Is he respected within the industry? No
