I see the thread has been turned into another name change debate, by the very person who complains that there are too many name change threads...

He hasn't been ignored, some of us were in West Bromwich yesterday and were out last night.

Cardiff fans have been very supportive of our campaign and as a group of fans dealing with the actions of an irrational owner, they have our support. Not so much because their owner wants a change of manager, but because of the way he thinks he can behave while making such a change.

We were hardly alone in our thoughts, the whole of Anfield were applauding the Cardiff fans yesterday and the 606 phone in last night lumped Tan and Allam together for much of the programme.

We didn't blog just to get media attention. One of the issues we have campaigned on from the beginning is consultation with fans, whether that be the name, the badge or the colours. Our support for Cardiff City fans in their fight to play in blue has been clear from the early days of CTWD.

The only thing that is new is expressing sympathy about the way Vincent Tan is trying to get rid of Malky Mackay. I don't think issuing a resign or be sacked letter to a manager that got them promoted is acceptable. Either Vincent Tan sacks him or lets him finish his contract. There is something a little distasteful about a football manager being dragged through the media by an owner for getting them promoted and keeping them out of the relegation spot.

We have expressed sympathy with Cardiff City fans about the way their club has been dragged through the media, especially now that Mackay is to remain at Cardiff City. We have made no comment on the nature of the fall out. The only support we have offered is over the colour of the strip which we have done publicly since the beginning of our campaign.

We have also said since the beginning of the campaign that we don't have a problem with Assem Allam's ownership, just the proposal to change the name.

    your post CI 16/12/13
How do we pay back £70 million?

    1. Come to an agreement with the Council and the land. Increase the capacity and build an hotel and other fascilities. Share the revenue between the club and the council.

    2. Look to increase the commercial income on the ground. I think EDG Wright (aka Stuart Blampey) did a write up on not606 on his experience at the Etihad and how Man City encouraged supporters to stay around the ground before and after the match and spend money.

    3. Increase sponsorship, both locally, nationally and internationally. CTWD have had coverage all around the world, coverage which could just result in increased sponsorship.

    4. Sort out the shop and build the supporters base. How much of our recent attendances have come from kids for a £1 tickets?

    5. Some of our supporters would be prepared to put in more than the minimum to help the Trust where the minimum buys a season pass.

    6. Finally we elect a President for 5 years. The election would, of course be based on how much sponsorship both individually and from his/her friends, they would bring into the club.

£30 million would give us £20 million to spend on wages and players and £10 million to repay the debt.

Sounds simple? With hard work it could happen. We are a Premier League club with a potential worldwide audience of billions. We are no longer little old Hull we could be with imagination and hard work become an established Premier League team that in time can compete in Europe.

You are a liar. Thats whats being discussed behind closed doors.

I thought that was discussed on CI not behind closed doors.

So where is the bit that's anti-Allam?

Its not a politician's answer. You ripped something out of context and accused me of lying and when I ask for clarification you resort to insults.

Just for you, I'll give you a fuller reply.

CTWD has not discussed what a fan owned club would look like or how it would operate. We think it may be a good idea and are looking into it. The post you quoted are my ideas on how it may work, and not the views of CTWD.

Assem Allam has said he would like the club to be owned by the fans eventually. For that to happen he, or his family, would have to transfer ownership. That would involve negotiations with the Supporters Trust and an agreement to transfer. The agreement would cover the price paid, the repayment of the loans (including whether any of that money would be written off), protection of Assem Allam's investment and the role he would play in the transition amongst other things.

Assem Allam is currently Chairman, a role I would see him continuing to play. Whilst the club owes him nearly £100 million I could see that being for a lengthy period of time unless he decides otherwise.

The President of the club is a figurehead with no influence on its running. Its basically allows somebody to sponsor the club and claim to be President, basically a sinecure.

I still think CTWD and Cardiffs anti owner group should have merged at the start into a big nationwide fans voice for fans of all clubs. It would have had a lot more power to impose its opinions on its victims. It could still sort of work but it will be a much tougher task now.

    Lol
Seems to me you wish t to play silly games with the truth, why? I joined the CTWD campaign as a result of reading of it on this board, where the fledgling campaign conducted some of its recruitment; so when I have a sincere question I don't expect to receive vague and deliberately incomplete answers, such as yours.
What difference does MM staying make to the way Cardiff have been dragged through the mud, the distinction you make puzzles me? MM is a football manager, they come and go in all sorts of bizarre ways. The blog expresses an opinion, which reads as if it is the opinion of CTWD, that he has done well and does not deserve the sack. Do you have a full feedback on the various views of your membership? Do you know the full detail of the email he received, has either he, his chairman or the owner confided in you? It seems to me that you made a massive comment on the nature of the fallout, you have supported MM on his record as a manager and that includes buying and selling players within a budget. Prior to this thread being created, some of us were discussing the record of MM in the transfer market and we seemed to have a common view that his statement about January acquisitions was a tad cheeky; do you not think he was goading his boss? But I digress, my opinion and yours, or any other is not that of CTWD. It has been said many times on here, by campaign supporters, as well as others, that club's colours are a changing feast and by far less important than the club name.
You, or whoever wrote that blog on behalf of CTWD, has brought the campaign into the realm of football opinion on another club and that is inappropriate, foolish and opens the campaign to unnecessary criticism.

You have created a campaign group against the name-change, which is the sorry brain-child of AA, I have seen some pretty stark criticisms by known powers within the campaign and you expect me to believe you have no problem with his ownership? You either have or you have no idea what it is you are up against.

    Surely Tan signs the cheques?

I don't understand how the manager can 'sign' players over the budget.

They'd all be doing it wouldn't they?

Is it a Grillo sisters franchise club?
