Victim of a system we almost certainly won't be playing next season. I think he will be a regular player in the Prem for us.
Steve Agnew just been on humberside saying they will go back in pre season with 3-5-2 been the preferred formation and its how modern football is going
A most definite yes to Rosey, and despite a lack of game time this year, oddly I think he might develop under Brucie.
Well, Elmo and Fathi down the right is the first choice of Egypt's a national side. Perhaps, given a chance in pre-season, Bruce might prefer that to one that includes Rosenior. If that is so, as you say, will Liam want another season warming the bench?
It's a bit unfair calling TWF a moron when he wasn't even involved in that discussion. I assumed you didn't mean me though, as from memory, there was no reason to think I couldn't debate a point from my post from memory. The only one who couldn't debate the point was the one who resorted to insults. As it is, I have no real interest in continuing a moronic slagging match, so feel free to continue arguing with yourself.
I expect us to play 3.5.2 next season. Perfect system, you need three in the middle of midfield to be competitive and two upfront to have a goal threat.
Definitely a YES! Will fit in perfectly as RB into the 4-2-3-1 formation we'll be playing next season. Seems a bit of a McLean joker character amongst the rest of the team, but one who has actual talent to back it up.....bonus!
It all depends on what offers are on the table. We only got him as he held off signing a contract expecting a better offer, which didn't turn up. I think unless an offer from someone else is on the table, he will sign for us at some point.
It seems that Strov thinks so. There is a marked difference in posting style to be fair, although I'm reverting to TWF stylee after Strov went into insult mode. It's quite entertaining for a short while, but I couldn't keep it up for long. I feel my brain dribbling out of my ears already.
Completely untrue Im afraid, you do him a massive disservice. He turned down offers from both Liverpool and QPR to sign for us. FACT.
3-5-2 going forwards will work a lot better in the premiership, there's space and time for the players to actually use the ball rather than the championship where the barnsleys and the Bristols with no real talent just run full pelt at the man with the ball all game because they're not good enough to defend properly. Defence wise I reckon we'll get torn a new one. It's a tough formation to put pressure on the ball without leaving gaps in the team shape, and the quality of service from premiership midfielders will punish any gaps we leave open or free space in our defensive third. Guess it depends who we get in at centerback, we definitely need a James Chester on the left side for it to work well. I disagree with modern football going the way of 3-5-2 completely, it's going the way of one proper striker up front with 3 clever ball players playing off him and 2 deeper midfielders holding as a platform in a 4-2-3-1.
If we do, I expect it to be more like 5-3-2 a lot of the time, especially away from home, as the wing backs will be spending a lot more time defending than attacking. That may not be a bad thing, it might help us to keep a foothold in games and still maybe sneak a goal on the counter attack!
Yep, totally agree with that. In the past teams didnt know what do with attacking midfielders who arent quite strikers such as Totti, Baggio and closer to home Barmby and Koren. The tendency was to try them in a hole behind a front 2 but that left the midfield far too exposed. The best way to utilise them now is to play 1 true striker with 3 attacking midfielders who burst forward right across the width of the pitch to almost become a second striker / out and out winger with the assurance of holding midfielders protecting the defence. Of course this means your 3 attacking midfielders have to cover an exceptional amount of ground - ideally interchanging at all times - and be extraordinarily fit otherwise your 1 striker becomes isolated.
oh yes and we will play an holding midfield player as well so in some games it will 6.2.2. But at least with the 2 upfront we will have some goal threat rather one guy upfront having no chance ! An extra centre back in the box to defend is another plus. And in the games when we have some of the ball, our wing backs will push up and make it a 3.5.2
Exactly, not so long ago I'd look to a teams strikers to judge their goal threat, now I look more towards their midfield.
