I can't see any other way forward than this. It's not ideal for trans people because there aren't that many of them, relatively, and it would affect their careers negatively but realistically it's the only option.
Nothing else makes sense imo and I suspect the authorities know that.

It wouldn't be but how many of them would there be and what would the viewing figures be is the problem.
I don't think being hoyed in with the paralympians would go down well either. The whole thing is a minefield.

They're covered under the umbrella of the organisation. From their FAQ's...
"The Gay Games welcome athletes of any sexual orientation or gender identity. And the people who participate in the Gay Games continue to compete in sport between each edition of the Gay Games. Some do so exclusively in LGBTQ+ sports organizations, but most compete in mainstream sport, both individual and team sport."
It's the first time I've heard of them and I doubt trans athletes would be keen to accept what is both a professional demotion and a potentially inaccurate labelling of their sexuality. They will want to compete with the best.
Unfortunately I don't see how that's possible realistically.

The only way in reality that i can see for them to move forward and be accepted is to have their own competitions.
I agree I just think the only way it could happen in the long term is if it was of equal popularity with the others, which I don't think would happen for a long time.
It's a shame but I don't think there's a neat solution to this problem.
I agree however i don't think they should be able to compete with the gender they're transitioning to.
Could you imagine if a country put a team of transitioning males into something like the womens world cup?

Agreed but it won't make the issue go away. It's an interesting debate and I don't know what the answer is.
