Funny old world when Parky got rid of McGeady someone published his story here think it was Tees after reading his reply that he left on loan for the good of the team and the circumstances surrounding it, bearing in mind he took a pay cut to play for us, i wanted Parky out and Wyke. A few months later we have a new manager a team busting a gut to win and Wyke playing out of his skin and a lot of that is due to Geads crosses which that combination accounted for 4 in one match if my memory serves me right as the games are coming thick and fast and I'm a crusty old fart. So what's your opinion on Stewart and Jones for their first games they did themselves no harm and hit the deck running two cracking signings in my opinion looking forward to hearing yours

I love the look of Jones mate. He’s got the look of that next level player for us and the type we love as fans. I think he’s going to be massive in the run in and beyond.

Loves the ball, not scared to lose the ball. Folk underestimate the value of that. Not shrinking if you fluff it.

Too soon on Ross, but from what I’ve read, highlights reel, Johnson’s glowing evaluation and a debut goal, look forward to seeing him weekend and start forming an opinion.

Both mate. 2 goals 2 absolute worldies. The Pompey game he just knew he had them on toast he took the piss. Lost a few balls but soon as he got it back was at them again.

Love that in a player. Gets in defenders heads and they start backing off.

So I can see a few of us called it on this thread. Does anyone actually believe that his clean sheets are down to anything other than the defence he’s had in front of him? He’s the least commanding keeper I’ve ever seen.

You must be a new supporter or forgotten about Camp and Steele who if both together played in goal would not be as good as Burge !!!

Hard to compare really, when those two were facing a higher quality in opposition as well as facing a lot more shots etc. I would definitely put Burge in the same category as them two.
It’s through them that we find ourselves where we are , sorry but both of them were dreadful neither of them could catch a cold never mind a ball .

The defence other than McFadzean have all done well, so they are immune to criticism. Other than that, it’s pretty obvious why we aren’t getting promoted isn’t it.
Yet you slated Luko O’Nien only a tew weeks ago! Make your mind up will you!

Saw plenty of them from JM and seen a lot of other keeps pull them off too. What about a match winning save then? The only one I can think of is that penalty save at Gillingham, but in fairness any keeper has half a chance of saving them if they dive the right way. Can’t think of any from open play.
<laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh>
so, what you’re saying is, that any keeper, if they dive the right way, has a half chance of saving a penalty. What if they dive and it’s straight? Ir they dive and it’s too corner or side netting first?

has to be one of the stupidest things you’ve said! And there’s a lot of competition!!

to be fair mate every goal scored the keeper has dived but hasn't been able to save it, the only ones saved are when he goes the right way

Oh I’m not arguing that point rog, but very few penalties are saved which makes that comment utterly ridiculous. Keepers study opposition penalty takers nowadays. Much more in depth than previously. I don’t rate Burge by the way. I did, and I think he did ok once he’d had a few games behind a settled defence, but he seems so bereft of confidence it’s terrifying again! And outpr second choice is even worse

also I’ve watched keepers dive the wrong way and kick the ball away! So not all keepers dive the right way to save them

thats why im all for Clockys solution the young lad in the under 23 he rates very highly , he hasn't had a sniff yet, i remember last time we had crap goalies and a young lad stepped in home grown Pickford it worked a treat i cant see a downside to it either he will be crap and can be subbed or he will be outstanding a play a blinder .Either way i'm getting desperate for a win, the Natives are getting restless we need a solution and quick

Not sure that the keeper will be enough. Burge cost us a point on Saturday but none of the previous 2 games were his fault. Agree about Patterson though. Not got much to lose. Matthew’s you may as well have me in goal and I’m 45, 5’ 6” and 13 stone!!

<laugh><laugh><laugh>Mathews, we have seen the devastation he can cause, it's like a world war one plan, see the plan doesn't work yet still do the same things and expect a better result, we have hit a **** patch it's time to earn his coin , At this stage Marcus im of the opinion that we need something radical, before the trap door opens and we drop out of the playoffs
