I thought we played well apart from Guly. After we scored I was awaiting the change to take Guly off. I thought our midfield ran the show in the second half and they took their only chance of the half. Again we should of been 2-0 up before they scored like last week against Blackpool.

No idea why Cork gets booked then Mullins does 2 bad challenges in the space of 2 minutes and gets nothing...

Seriously believe we could - and should have won this one, but let,s be honest we would have settled for a draw before the game and sitting top of the table at Christmas is a good place to be.
Guly is a frustrating player I know, but having done little for 85 mins he,s likely to win you the game. Just didn,t happen today.
I am confident we will whip the skates in the return game - always assuming they still in existence.

Do we really need to see this sort of nonsence on a site meant for the intelligent, measured, knowledgeable and articulate football fan.

Send this poster off to the News where he can be as foul mouthed as he likes with all the morons who post on there.

This site is for grown ups.

Because it was a Prem ref and they are even worse than the dross we get most weeks in the Football League.

Twice the Pompey keeper clattered into Lambert with Rickie facing the ball both times and yet he gave both to the keeper.

Point gained and top of the league. This was a missed opportunity but no worse than that. I don't expect the team to share our hysteria..I expect them to be calm and keep playing their game. Remember although important, this was a middle of season game not a relegation/promotion 6 pointer at the end of the season. I know a lot won't agree, but I didn't want headless chickens out there. We just need to start scoring more goals again..back up striker in January and all will be well with the world. We have 2 home games coming up, as do Middlesbrough (v Hull and Peterborough) whilst West Ham have 2 away games (v Peterborough and Derby). Remember that single point means West Ham have to better us to be top in January.

I have written plenty of unpleasant things but I have never resorted to swearing.

I totally disagree, I certainly don't think you can say that the players do not lack passion. While we certainly didn't play well I don't think the weather or pitch helped today. Guly did have a poor game, after playing so well against Blackpool, but there was noone on the bench that we could really bring on, which was the main problem.

Totally agree with no Barnard or Connolly we are a bit light in reserve up front. I'm positive that will be resolved in January.

Yet another game were Guly was rubbish.....I got slated the other day for suggesting he be dropped for away games , well for the fourth away game in a row he has been awful and still Adkins doesnt learn. Shows up the lack of depth in the squad if he cant drop him. Guly great at home, dire away. Hammond and Morgan I thought played well today and for me Frazer had a stormer.

Didn't he score one, and create two, against Coventry?

Completely agree about it showing up the lack of depth however.

If we would have won guly we would be saying he had a quiet game. Because he was at fault for the goal he should be dropped. I think guly has been great for us this season. I agree though on some away games we should play a different formation or drop guly. Not every away game but until we find our rhythm away from home.I thought we played ok, but why so many long balls.
That was my biggest moan. We didn't play to our strengths. Roll on palace. Work tomorrow won't be too bad facing 20 pompey fans :)

    It's read, now what?

I believe I was expressing an opinion about the speed of our play today and comparing it to the bad days when we used to run out of ideas very quickly.

Despite the fact it was a derby, pitch was poor, etc, I just wasn't impressed today.... Is that ok?

1898: are you so-named because you are a disciple of the famous "1898 Generation" of Spanish poets? Your command of the language and coherent discourse suggests that you are a work in progress and will soon burst onto the literary scene with an impact unrivalled since the Swan Of Avon hit London all those years ago.
