    To summarize Cosi's post.

Neither driver was innocent, but Karthikeyan correctly identified the source of the problem: front runners demanding the moon on a stick from drivers in cars that struggle to take corners on a clean, well rubbered racing line, let alone marbles or grass.

The fact is that Vettel was never going to catch the top three, or lose fourth place, as a result of how cautious he was in overtaking Karthikeyan. He had mirrors and a visor, which were enough to reassure him of that even if the radio was faulty. For that reason he only has himself to blame for the damage it did to his race.

Sorry, thats utter bullox. Vettel didnt do anything wrong on track. The pictures and videos speak a clear language, 100% fault of Karthikeyan. Johnny Herbert and the other stewards agreed obviously.

This is about as insightful and impartial as a North Korean press release. With a gratuitious, sexist attack for good measure.

That's debatable since he was closing him down quite quickly towards the end.

The rules on being lapped are not the same as they were, the onus is on the back marker to get out of the way, or be penalised for it, it's easy to identify the problem, **** idiots in **** cars. It's quite clear from the replays that Karthikayen didn't stay out of the way until he was passed, despite having plenty of room. Instead he moves onto the racing line before the car he was instructed by the stewards to let pass had fully passed so he could catch the slipstream, he did it too early, totally misjudged it and took out Vettel. People saying it's Vettels fault clearly have an axe to grind with Vettel.

This is weird! You could remove the word Vettel, replace it with Hamilton and it would be like so many of the conversations from last season, just with the odd opinion shakeup.

Who changed the matrix??? Am I still on Earth??? Did Lord Lucan ride in to town on Shergar?

i think it was just a racing incident. Karthikeyan said that he had to move back in otherwise he would have ran onto the marbles and span out in these condition. there was not really much he could do in the situation, either spin or cut back in. he had his own race to think about, plus if he did spin then it would have been a danger to the drivers behind him on the racetrack. i dont think it deserved a penalty.

Funnily enough, this discussion is still going on..

Why do people care so much of whose fault it was? After all, we would't have had this debate if Vettel didn't stick his middle finger in the air or make those idiot/cucumber remarks about Karthikeyan, such minor was the 'accident'. I find it being a hugely improper behaviour from such a public figure and world class racer. I can understand that you can slip and do/say things like that in the heat of the moment. We are only human after all. But it has been several days now and as far as I know, no apology has been made.

It isn't out of the question that Vettel could lose the title by less than 12 points. A world championship isn't minor. It's strange how people find Vettel's playground antics of more importance than a formula one world championship.

I agree that the championship isn't minor. The result of this incident can in fact show to be crucial come the end of the season.

However, a collision such as this between those two cars, is something we see in ever single race, and it rarely raises many eyebrows. I think we have seen much, much, much worse incidents between drivers during the first two races this season so far. I guess I do not have to list them?

It doesn't really matter if you are fighting for the WDC or for 20'th place either, each are fighting for their own goals. So I find it hugely irrelevant that this incident was between NK and SB.

The incident in question was in fact a minor incident, in relative terms, no matter the end season outcome.

Or are you suggesting that it would have been a lesser serious incident should it have been between NK and Petrov for example?
