Kind of a gamble, but could pay off. Kaboul has been good when hes on his game, hes also been piss poor and a liability when hes not.

He's much more experienced in the PL than Coates, much quicker than JOS, much more reliable than Brown and wants to play for Sunderland.
It's all very well saying we can do better but some players simply will not come to the far NE coast at any price.
It's an absolute improvement mate, and that's all we need, constant and steady improvement.
I'm delighted with business to date, and this enhances that, it's another small step forward.
In that Brown can't be relied on not to give away stupid free kicks & penalties when he's chasing people running past him.
He's also at a point whereby we can't build a defence around him while fearing his legs will crumble.
How many penalties did he give away last season then? And free kicks that led to goals?
Browns getting on, but to call kaboul, who is known for his unreliability, more reliable than brown is a comment I couldn't agree with.
Hope this comes back to bit me in the arse.
I'm rather sceptical since he's not really played much - but I hope that means he's hungry and has a point to prove.
Suppose for £3m it could work out a snip.
Getting rid of Vergini and replacing him with Kaboul is an improvement but I cant help feeling that we will still need another quality centre back!
Not an exciting signing but signing a defender with loads of premier league experience who is the right side of 30 for £3 million seems like a good bit of business to me. If he steers clear of injuries we might just have got ourselves a bargain.
Yes he will improve the squad but compared to Brown, O'Shea and Vergini that really isn't saying much. I was hoping for more ambition from the club than a player who improves us fractionally. We can only sign a finite amount of players and I'm not convinced that we couldn't have done better than Kaboul.
Well IMO Kaboule will be a vital addition (remember Steve Bould ?) and just speaking to a Spurs fan rates Kaboule as very strong and reliable (he was like that when he played against us last season)
- as for turning us down earlier - his agent couched his very negative disparaging comment about Sunderland with it would not enhance Kaboules international career - probably not - we're not perceived as a top club in the outside world ---YET - Dick is a winner and will not be here to end his career with failure - I feel very positive - we have good named players in our squad - just hav,nt performed to their potentials - YET - Dick knows how to handle & get the best out of players - he has a record and experience of success - or am I pre-season dreaming ????? - AGAIN - I,ll sign off with KTF but ETU

I actually think this is a very astute signing that we will benefit from, not much of an outlay and very experienced. Means we spend more elsewhere now..
btw, I think it was his agent at the time that said the earthquake stuff. With a bit of luck he will be stood just above one right now..

Every player we are in for I notice the that the usual suspects will find fault with.... If he signs then he will have my support..He is better than what we have got that's for sure..
Thanks VJ - I mean't his agent but it does read as if it may have been Kaboule - definately not though no negativity there - i don't like too much negativity - opinionated observational realism yes - often seen as been negative but it all helps get rid of pent up emotions - esp mid season - its almost normal - so KTF but ETULooks like it is going to happen..

That Earthquake in London must be pretty bad if he wants to join little old us!
I do rate him as a player though his injury record is a worry.

Another attribute to Kaboul’s game which many fail to appreciate is his pace.
It was revealed recently that he was the quickest player in the Spurs squad over a distance of 100m – and remember that said squad includes numerous speed merchants, such as Gareth Bale, Aaron Lennon and Kyle Walker.
If he can stay fit he will probably be the best centre half in our squad.
The only downside is, like Graham when he had a pop at us all them years ago, players need to keep their stupid fecking mouths shut, cause it could come back and bite them in the ARSEnal.
