Can see him being a signing for the new New York team. They are owned by Sheik ManCity and im sure they can spend big on a "big signing".

All we here from his supporters are excuses and hopes, its time he went, if he succeedes it wont be in the premiership imo, he is just too slow.

Bye Jozy. Don't wait too long to go then will you? One of the worst strikers I've seen in a Sunderland shirt and I've seen some right dross in my time. 2 goals in 60 odd EPL games for two clubs is about as ****e as it gets tbh. Mind you, he needn't think we are going to write off £6m just like that. Let him buy out his contract or stick a £5m pricetag on him and see who still wants the big tub of lard.

"And try to make an impact when I'm played"

Yeah like at Burnley?! That was your big chance. Zero successful passes in over 20 minutes. None. Against Burnley.

Close the door on your way out.

I have written before about Jozy's attitude from the very start being wrong, and questioning the myth about his work rate and touch, I think he has tried, but found it harder than he envisaged. He will never make it here imo, he needs to move on, and we should all wish the lad well, and hope we get a decent fee for him from some quarter.

I'll not criticise him too much simply because I believe he gives his all. However, whether that is good enough to warrant a place in the first team is another thing completely..

I wish he was equally crap for the USA, the fact that he plays well and scores for them f***s with my head.

I don't know how long he's got on his contract but a loan might be a good idea for both parties. Although we'd need someone in as a replacement. My dog could probably beat 2 goals in 60 games and she's willing to play for only 10 grand a week.

That's the thing Nacho. When you look at Altidore's USA and Alkmaar records, it's not as simple as saying this is a bad player - he' clearly not. True, the Dutch league isn't as quick as the EPL, but it's certainly not a bad league, is it? The only place Jozy looks bad is Sunderland. It's not all that unusual. Vito Mannone was a senior player at Arsenal for six years! For three of them, he was farmed out to Barnsley and Hull (twice). In the three years he spent actually at the Emirates, he made a grand total of fifteen appearances! By any reckoning, Vito Mannone was a flop. He changed clubs, and in one year became one of the top keepers in the EPL! It would be madness to start criticizing Arsenal as a club, or Wenger as a manager. And Vito was hardly a bad goalie either. It just happens sometimes, x player doesn't fit y club. It's nobody's fault particularly. It just doesn't work out.

And I think that's probably the case with Altidore and Sunderland/Poyet. It just isn't working out, for us or for him. As you say, his performances elsewhere suggest that Jozy is as 'bad' a player as Vito. I think it's time we all just shook hands and moved on. I hope he goes, and I'll wish him luck. There's no need for bad feeling.

I think he needs to admit that he has been, by and large, utter pantaloons! I think he needs to be at a level where he is guaranteed to be have chances put to him on a plate regularly! At Sunderland he doesn't get many, so seems to bottle it when he gets them. He works hard, but tries so hard that he seems to struggle. He cant handle the pressure. Playing for the USA is a totally different ball game. No pressure because they are virtually guaranteed a place in the world cup and has chances put to him on a plate against the likes of Honduras, Panama and Jamaica!

I always liked Jozy, was willing to give him all the time in the world, but that's changed. When a player isn't performing for club, they can't expect to start games. Their priority from that moment on should be to work hard, shut up and try and find some form. Jozy has decided to put international football before all that and run his mouth to the press which is no good to us, the club that pays his wages. I question his ethic, like I questioned Bardo's. I'm fearlessly defensive of our club and don't want characters so ethically lax at our club. This is nowhere near as bad as Bardo's behavior, however, the level of disrespect form Jozy, for a player who simply isn't performing and doesn't deserve to start, is a step too far for me. Self important dickhead who quite simply doesn't deserve to be part of our fantastic club. He can **** off. Done with him me. Can't wait to get shot. Ideas above his stations.

Altidore's wonderful record for the States is fundamentally flawed, as a huge amount have came v nations playing below League 1 standard.

As such, is there a rich club in League 1 or 2 that will give us out money back for a nailed on 6 a season striker at that level?

Half agree & half disagree with you there Bri.
Jozy just hasn't cut the mustard.
Sure, he may well graft his arse off.
But it's a bit like being employed as a bricklayer.
Aye, you go to work & graft like **** but you're not laying bricks as fast as the gaffer wants & he ends up losing contracts.

Bardsley is different & I'll defend him to the hilt.
Silly for Twattering what he did but in my eyes it was a pop at PDC not the club.
One of the most committed players we've had in recent years & a very accomplished full back.
    IMO of course.

I've been a advocate of Altidore - I also find his comments disappointing he should to give his head a shake

I didn't mean similar in the directly comparable sense of the incidents, just in the sense that I didn't/don't like their attitude. I don't like it when our players disrespect the club that pays them. I think Jozy has been disrespectful.

I agree Bardo was having a pop at PDC, but he used the club to do it. That's a fact. he mocked our team losing without a mention of PDC. We're just aplying sensible logical opinion that it was at PDC, but it doesn't make it right and it still doesn't sit well with me. If someone used my lass to get at me I'd go ****ing mental. Same principle to me. Just my personal stance fella.
