Despite his lack of goals I used to like his attitude ......... now I don't like his attitude. I suspect he's just lost the one thing he had going for him, the support, and good will, of the majority of the crowd. He's a trier but his playing style reminds me of a big black pig attempting to escape from an abattoir
one of the problems with a squad is keeping all happy, heaven knows how the big clubs cope,i would have thought his goal scoring feats might have kept him silent a bit longer than this though.
My sentiments. If his response is to throw his toys out the pram, and not be professional, I can't see him working his way back into the first team under Gus. What a bell-end.
Things is smithy, after he scored he was ****e. He thought he'd made it/ done enough but he hadn't. He went back to his mud wrestling routine, slipping and falling over constantly around defenders.
It's obvious he simply sees Sunderland as the means to keep his place in the national team ...... big mistake son, you're busted.
Absolutely. We pay your wage son, not the ****ing US of A, so first and foremost your perform for your team. Blessing in disguise, I hope.
I guess this is it for Jozy. A player who had a lot of support now comes out saying he wants more game time after being possibly not even Championship level for a season and a bit! New striker in January - one with the "gus" philosophy please and sell the useless yank for whatever we can get. Di Canio's in the running for Bolton job - see if he wants him for £6.5m - after all he is one of "the best strikers in europe"
This all reminds me of one of those big factory switches that knocks everything off in the entire building ...... ..... the lights are going out for Altidore.
If I was Gus reading this he'd have just slipped behind Danny Graham and maybe even Mandron. Very out of character. Maybe an angry Jozy could be an effective Jozy, certainly worked with Fletcher.
Aye it is, maybe Journo's adding a negative spin to what he said ? To be honest, if he isnt going to get games then I understand why he would want to move on. Not sure why people are surprised/angry about this. I'd be more worried if he was happy to sit on his arse letting his contract run out - as we know certain players are willing to do. Graham is perfectly happy to get 0 games but get paid his wages, waiting for his contract to run out rather than take a pay cut, and that attitude pisses me off way more than a player who wants to move on to get games
I doubt the club has put him up for an interview so it's probably true that he's sought one out deliberately. I'm not surprised but whinging in the media is the very worst way to get what he wants and, as in my case, will instantly lose the support he's previously had. I've had a bellyful of players demanding this & that and whinging in the press. Fetcher had a pop at the supporters, after the Stoke game, but got away light because he'd scored two goals. There's your answer Mr Altidore
FFS Can just imagine the pig, no traction with it's hoofs on the slippery floor, very much like him. He is ****ing awful to be fair, there's only so long you can give somebody the benefit of the doubt, before you wanna just punch them.
Not saying he didnt set up the interview, but if he did doesnt mean the journo's didnt add their own spin to it. anyway, I still prefer a player to be complaining about not getting a game and move on if needed, than one who is happy to sit out his contract on our wage bill. btw, Jozy scored in the cup game but still go stick from the fans after the game even though we lost due to our GK screwing up for both goals. in fact, Jozy got more stick than the GK. I am pretty sure there are some people on here who would have something bad to say about him no matter what he did.
Yes Terry, you get the picture! Add in sheer blind panic, lots of squealing and the inevitable crashing to the ground and the image is complete BTW, if you're reading this Jozy, sorry mate, but I've demanded more reprieves that you've scored goals ....... not impressed.
