Jones has had 1.5 seasons of success in a four club managerial career - you can see why it quickly went pear shaped for him at Southampton & Stoke.

 

Not forgetting a certain 25 stones, 42" waist moderator.

 

He needs time and money.

Little Ivor knows the score, he must have asked for a 4.5 years contract as a result of zero dough in the kitty.

 

What’s the verdict of 606 members on Nathan Jones after one year ?

 

Kept us up when in serious s***
First 5 months of this season
Now back in with a good shout for the play-offs.

I give him a B+, room for improvement.

 

Seems to be settling in

 

Curates egg. At least the team are playing less hoof ball.

Personally I can't see NJ joining that small club of managers who have got Charlton Athletic promoted from the 3rd tier.
But then I did not think Bowyer was going to join that club either.

You cannot have progress up the pyramid without stability.
But you can have stability without progress.
A quiet life for the spivs feathering their nests while CAFC fades slowly away.

 

I Wanted him out now I want him to stay (still not his biggest fan tho)

 

I was always wanting Little Ivor to stay, he needs time and we cannot keep changing managers.

Hopefully he has now rode the storm and we can progress, even if it means a play-off finish but a promotion push next season.

His main problem, and the fans, are the clowns trying to run things.

 

I can’t say that I take to him personally, but who cares about that, the players are behind him. Maybe they've got used to him. He's had a stroke of luck with Small's performance on the right, but credit him with the improvement in TC's game compared to under Appleton.

 

Doing ok now , needs to stop mucking about with ex Luton chums - must try harder C+

 

Yeah he's turned it round thankfully and the quality of football is no where near as bad as it was a few months ago

 

Where are we all at with Jones then

He’s still a touchy little bugger.

Even after our excellent win last night, he made a point of referencing a fan sat behind him criticising him at the Orient game, and said he’d like to ask what he’s saying now.

 

If I dare to back him we'll go on a six game losing streak.

So I couldn't give a fig about him

 

The taffs are very touchy.

 

Can't really take to him but he hasn't crossed any lines, so as long as the players are behind him he's okay by me. It's a job, not a popularity contest.

 

I’m in the Jones in camp now. He could have an argument with himself in a dark room but I can live with that
