The next two home games could tip the balance between some occasional supporters buying a season ticket or not.

Will the youngsters (future fans) want to go to see turgid, losing football on a fortnightly basis? I think not.

As things stand, the product on offer is poor. If we could play with a little more verve, we could gain additional support, thus filling the coffers.

First off, the board needs to give Jones the cash to buy better players with which to improve the quality of football.

Will the moneymen speculate to accumulate?
It’s a fine balance. If we play better football but lose more and go down to L1 again, revenue will be less than it currently is.

As you say, the owners need to speculate to gradually improve every aspect of the club and I believe that that is what they have been doing and is the plan for next season also.

Reactions: Ponders Revisited
With my own renewal I went with my heart rather than my head. I would have been more sensible to wait and see how the window pans out, see what division we are in before buying or alternatively just electing to spot buy (I don’t really go enough to warrant the season ticket expense).
But I’m not sensible and I wanted to retain my seat.
Hope the owners do the right thing and make a decent sized transfer kitty and nail the next two windows

It’s been rumoured that we have £20M for the next window, minus what we paid for Sichenje, whose purchase was brought forward by 5 months.

That should be enough to avoid a relegation scrap but nowhere near enough for a play off push.

Avoiding the relegation scrap next season would be my personal goal - small steps at a time :emoticon-0148-yes:

Agreed. Following year target could be top half finish/play-off push.

Year after - play-offs or automatics.

Three years at the earliest before we might reach the PL ? Sounds reasonable to me, but fans would just need some patience.
