It’s a fine balance. If we play better football but lose more and go down to L1 again, revenue will be less than it currently is.The next two home games could tip the balance between some occasional supporters buying a season ticket or not.
Will the youngsters (future fans) want to go to see turgid, losing football on a fortnightly basis? I think not.
As things stand, the product on offer is poor. If we could play with a little more verve, we could gain additional support, thus filling the coffers.
First off, the board needs to give Jones the cash to buy better players with which to improve the quality of football.
Will the moneymen speculate to accumulate?
As you say, the owners need to speculate to gradually improve every aspect of the club and I believe that that is what they have been doing and is the plan for next season also.
