That annoyed me also - he’s done it before - drops in that he’s worked at a higher level to try and provide himself with increased gravitas, that the players are too lower level for him and or to suggest he’s doing us a favour. he failed at that level and he’s failing now
That’s exactly what it is , a subliminal message from Jones that he’s doing us a favour. He also told a blatant whopper in the same interview with Hopeless Terry, that we have the best defensive stats in League One. Guess what …we don’t. A Statto on CL has produced that stats, and we are 6th…not top.
A very credible long term fan who was sitting near to the dug out last night has told me Jones shouted “are you thick?” to Edmunds Green during the game.
That is really going to motivate the players. No personality, no tactical acumen, no coaching ability. I will be there Saturday. I don’t usually boo the players or the Manager. But I might make an exception for Jones.
It’s being reported elsewhere that it’s going to cost around £1.5m to pay him off. When you add in a new manager & his staff, you can see why Methven must have spent the day at Sketchleys. This is all getting very messy and expensive, although not with CM’s money of course. It’s the price you pay when you appoint a SMT that doesn’t know what it’s doing. I don’t understand why Freidman & Co didn’t investigate the evidence from Sunderland, Forest & Scunthorpe etc. It was glaringly obvious after the recent Wrexham gimmick that it’s all smoke & mirrors….literally putting glitter on a turd.
