Joelinton may not be scoring, but he is not doing much else either. Even if he isn’t getting much in the way of service, he at least ought to be getting more stuck in and making much more of a nuisance of himself. He is young and athletically built, yet regularly gets out muscled and out jumped. Andy Carroll must have 10 yrs on him, but terrifies defences even so. I am prepared to accept that Joelinton needs time to adapt and is only 21, but he ought to be working much harder than he does.
Carroll is crap too, but at least he causes problems and knows what hes doing. I think joe had an ok game last night tbh .
He is lazy, had the first touch of a rhinoceros and cannot shoot a ball to save his life. He needs getting rid of ASAP. Carrol makes him look like dog turd and that’s saying something
Nah he along with matty and manq were the only players that had decent games.. watched it twice now..
Nah, l was there and apart from a good solid run to assist the goal, he was being knocked about all over the shop. I guess we will have to disagree on this one. Hope you had a good Christmas.
Joelinton started his career in Brazil with Sport Recife. He made 12 appearances scoring 3 goals. He moved to Hoffenheim in Germany where he made 29 appearances scoring 7 goals. He was loaned to Austrian club, Rapid Wien where he made 60 appearances scoring 15 goals. As we know, the 23 year old striker has 1 goal in 21 appearances for Newcastle United. So that's a total of 122 games played and 26 goals scored. Could someone please tell me how you equate this record with a Transfer fee of £40,000,000?
Not the lads fault we massively overpaid for him, also not his fault we are playing him out of position in a team that plays completely different football to 99% of the footballing world (hence I imagine we are probably the most boring team in the world to watch bar none, no joking, no over embellishing, I genuinely believe that). He is clearly an inside right forward playing off the wing and showed this versus Everton and I think would work really well in a 4-2-3-1 formation with him, Miggy and ASM as the 3 behind Carroll. It's also a bit dodgy that the agent is the same as St Max's - greasing up a few wheels perhaps? He is young, inexperienced and learning a new league, I'm giving him the season before jumping on him and hopefully he'll be used properly going forwards out on a wing.
Newcastle fans at their finest. Young striker in a new league, doesn't score in every game and is therefore ****. Same with Longstaff, had an injury now playing under SB and not performing 100% and is now championship quality at best.
